From Schmoldt's Twitter: Wyo AD Tom Burman said there are some benefits going forward: "Wyoming is in a league now where budgets are at least comparable."

Are you kidding me? So, we have an AD that instead of trying to grow, and work / strive to be competitive at all levels again, we are going to sit quitely and wallow in our own shit...satisifed where our current "budget" is?

Who says athletic departments are ran like businesses?!? If that is the case, we are fucking Montgomery Wards or Bennigan's or Hollywood Video. Out of business, or headed there fast. Damn it! Wake up WYOMING!

Our athletic departments level of thought and accepting this kind of crap is what boils my blood. I really believe now our athletic department has no incentive to want to grow or act like a big time program.

Here is the blog. I think the message was TCU has a lot more money than us, but the schools we are now aligned with aren't as rich. More of an even playing ground, but hope he thinks we can build a larger budget.

I have been saying for years that the UW Trustees and the Wyoming Legislature needs to fund the athletics at UW to the levels of the rest of the universities we play so that we can compete. It is unbelievable that the State of Wyoming who is in almost the best financial condition of any state in the US will not fund it's only University of Wyoming's athletic departments to the level all the other states do when we have more money than they do. We need to start voting in some people that care and let the UW Trustees know that we will cut our donations unless they start funding the athletic programs.

Well stated. We should be setting budget goals (and creatively growing them) that are more along the line of top 25 teams (or so) instead of bottom 10. Fucking kills me...the whole "we are poor, sorry we can't compete" bullshit...DO YOUR FUCKING JOB UW ATHLETICS DEPARTMENT!
