Desmar's attitude has been a problem for a while now...even before he came to UW. Desmar was one of the most highly touted basketball recruits in the entire country his junior year of HS basketball. There was even a major debate in the state of Ohio whether Jared Sullinger or Desmar was the better player. Most scouting services considered Desmar a top 50 national recruit...then, his senior year happened. His team didn't always perform up to their expectations and Desmar's displeasure was evident. All the big time programs saw that and high-tailed the other way.
I agree with you guys that Desmar has the wrong attitude for success here at UW. However, I do think it was a good recruiting decision by Schroyer (or whoever pushed to offer the guy). It's going to be tough for UW to go head to head with big time programs and land the recruit. Thus, Wyoming has to take some chances on guys like Desmar that have great skill, but have "other things" keeping other programs from offering. It doesn't seem to be working out very well with Desmar, but I think it's a chance UW has to continue to take.
