Desmar

see what happens when you play Jackson Heath, Lets see a starting lineup of luster, Thiam, Adam, jackson and Aj. Way to go pokes and great job Adam and THiam too. Team game is better then launching half court threes

Lets get some work on the free throws

He is a spark for sure. He can only get better. And Wyo having only a couple more turnovers than Afam would have had by himself was nice too

I like desmar alot he seems to have the most talent and upside to any player we have. He also seems to have a sense for the game. Adam had a hell of a game as well. 22 boards? If that number is official that is the second best rebounding game at the AA.

I would like to see Jackson, Davis, Thiam, Waddel, and luster start as well. Dermody probably shouldn't play to much. Does anyone know how many minutes Desmar played? I bet it was around twenty minutes, so a point per minute played is a pretty good ratio. Add in zeroe turnovers (could be off there)for jackson, we could be seeing a star in the making.

21 minutes.
I think Dermody had some really good minutes. He has stepped his defense up considerably this year

Waddell is a beast nothing more you can say if his FG's and FT's were better he wouldve had 20 n 22 he is a man out there and always plays hard... Dermondy seems to foul a lot.. Jackson stepped in and played great good numbers across the board
Did Jackson or Luster play the 1

Hey TwoTone...Derm BLOWS. He gave up 4 easy layups last night to #15, along with a bundle of assists and open shots to others on the switch. He is a HUGE liability to the team. When Heath subbed him in with 28 seconds left, I KNEW the Yoots would go right and Derm, and get it back to 2. And they did just that. Heath needs to realize that AJ is better on D than Derm, and better on O than Derm, and leave it at that. Case in point...when Heath again tried to sub in Derm with 13 seconds left, but couldn't, and AJ stayed in, guess who caused the Yoot turnover...AJ.

BINGO! That is the line-up we need to win games! And use M'Baye, Harrison, Derm, and the rest of the minions sparingly!

I have to agree with Mcpeachy on Dermondy. He has never impressed me very much with his play. Occasionally he hits a couple 3's, but for the most part he is a liability on both ends of the floor, in my opinion.

I agree Derm shouldn't be getting as much minutes as he does, but he is useful as our sixth man and is a pretty decent role player

Dermondy isn't the best player, but I'm not sure who else you guys want to sub in. Should we go with M'Baye or Harrison instead? I'd make the argument that Dermondy is better than both of those guys. I suppose we could just play Thiam for 40 minutes a game (tic).

Maybe the starting line-up and rotation wasn't ideal before Muojeke was injured, but it sure would be nice to be able to bring in Muojeke instead of Dermondy to give some guys a breather. Ironic how that works huh?

It kinda illustrates Coach shroyer's lack of recognition of talent and team chemistry. Probably the main reason I have a problem with him, he cant see what so many others do concerning what payers are working and which are not. It might end up being his downfall. Think we could of won alot more games with desmar in.

That isn't fair. There are many reasons for playing certain players. Dermody brings senior leadership and the ability to knock down the 3. He has had both good and bad game, just like every other player on the team. I don't fault Schroyer for breaking Desmar in slowly, or having M'Baye play as much as he had. Both have had flashes of being both good and both have made freshman mistakes.

Let's just see how this team plays going forward. We commited only 10 turnovers and did some other good things. Remember, this team is pretty young. The key is how much better they can get and how fast.

Bring on Air Force.

I agree. Desmer really couldn't play anymore last night because of his foul trouble. Schroyer subbing him in and out in the final few minutes was good coaching, taking him out on the defensive ends. Should we have gone into OT, we needed Desmer for that extra period.

I've seen freshman thrown in too fast, too much, too soon and that having a negative impact on their confidence. Of course we don't know what would have happened to Desmar, I like where we are today with him. He's hungry and playing with great confidence.

Man I hope Adam is good to go Saturday!

I think it is fair to critical of Heath Schroyer, I believe it is our right as fans. I think that Heath has done a very good job of recruiting, but a poor job of being aware of team chemistry. It seems obvious that Desmar Jackson could have been a valuable part of the team earlier in the season, and that if he had played more maybe the team could have started gelling earlier. However the utah game could be a turning point and I am optimistic about our chances the rest of the way. Another possbile issue with this team could be that young players like Desmar were unsure if they had the ability to step up and lead the team because of relying on Afam to make critical baskets. In that case the blame doesn't exactly fall on Heath.
