Desmar Jackson

wyopokesfan23

Well-known member
Signed with the Cowboys. 3 stars from rivals. All Ohio First team in Division 1. Finalist for Ohio POY award and Gatorade POY. McDonalds All American Nominee. Was also recruited by Ohio St. and UConn. His only knock is that he doesn't play hard all of the time which is a big concern seeing how we played last year.

I heard UW recieved his signature this morning...what is the word on Quinton Thomas? Daylen Harrison?

Hmmmmm....how many schollies can we give? With the two that left 5? 6?

Signed early:
Dietz
Manzano
M'Baye

Signed late:
Jackson
????
????

I am way confused.

i think they would have 2 schollies left.

cause it was originally Manzano, Dietz and MBaye and then we had one left for Thomas. Then we lost Linskens and Diakite, so that would mean 3 schollies, then add Jackson, so we are down to 2 schollies. Hopefully for Harrison and Thomas

I think one of the scholarships is going to Arthur Buedo(sp?). Since he paid his own way last year.

oh yeah i totally forgot bout him! well thats quite alright hes gettin the schollie, he deserves it.

so then one left between Harrison and Thomas.

id take Harrison cause hes a really good student with plenty of potential, and apparently thats whats holdin back Thomas, hes gotta fix his grades from what i hear.

Well nobody answered in my other thread but I hear Harrison has a 4.0 and got a perfect score on the math portion of his ACT's. Can he get an academic scholarship?

Desmar Jackson is an absolute enigma to me. Some people who really know basketball seem to think he is going to become one of the top college basketball players in the nation. Other basketball insiders think he is a waste of talent, and doesn't have the work ethic or the attitude to do anything besides cause problems. My impression is that he is loaded with talent, but does have some serious attitude problems that need to be worked out quickly. I think that is why many of the big name schools, who can get highly talented players without much trouble, didn't offer this guy. It scares me a little bit signing a guy like this, but it is probably a chance that needs to be taken by UW at this point. I see this guy becoming a HUGE star in the mountain west conference and making a name for himself nationally or being mired in on-the-court/off-the-court problems his entire career. Lets hope it's the former.

I don't know much...but I have some very close friends who do...and they say, if this kid matures, takes school seriously, takes the program seriously, he will make us forget about Ewing & Orgirri. Then again, isn't that the case with most recruits? You either ramp it up and make it happen (Ewing), or you float through and fade away (Leven).
