Man....If only that were true. In 7 consecutive (non covid shortened) seasons, the old bald coach never won less than 6..and that was only once. I think the Bohl years will be looked at as the good ole days if Sawfull is what I think he is.
Without COVID Bohl would have been 3-9 in 2020. Cancelled games saved him and the mass exodus of players that left shortly after.

How do you conclude this? 2020 was bizarre in all facets and no one could have pre-planned for that. I believe it is just as likely (and maybe even more likely) that Wyoming would have went 9-3 as going 3-9 in 2020 if Covid never happens.

My belief is that Bohl was one hell of a coach and likely maxed out what is possible with the UW football program in it’s current state under the current leadership.

If we want more than what Bohl was able to provide, it is going to take a whole hell of a lot more investment ($$$$$$) and leadership that believes it is actually possible and willing to try.

depressing...but it rings true.

Also surprising to me was two Safeties starting that were on the team last year. For a position that was a liability I surprised not to see transfers in those positions

This was my surprise too. I'm really worried about that secondary. I hope we have a pass rush.

I was pretty down about Sawvel last year and his ability to recognize and utilize talent. I think he was thinking with his heart and not his brain.

All of that said, I actually think last year's team was a QB away from 7 wins. I am predicting 8 wins this year. If you looked at the Boise game and Washington state game it seems like the coaches finally figured out how to coach. If you have ever moved up in coaching anything, the first year is usually rough.

I might eat my words and I should probably wait until after game 1 or 2 but I am drinking the kool-aid this year. I like Kaden Anderson's accuracy. I like the WR's. I think we have hungry RB's. Both o and d lines are bigger than years past. Our OLB is 248 lbs and can run and hit. I really like both safeties size and speed. The CB spot and nickle scares me but that's it. I think we are 2 and 0 going into play Utah at home and give them a game.
