DCs record.

Through 4 years had post a total record of 22-28 and 13-18 in MWC play.
1 Bowl win, 1 Bowl loss.
10-14 at home. 11-13 on the road.
Pokes have to win 10 games to break .500 next year. Unless we go 10-2, lose the MWC Championship game and lose a bowl game then he will be right at .500

Here is to hoping after year 5 of DC we have a MWC title, and a 2-1 record in bowl games and an above .500 record overall. Go Pokes.

I was being nice to DC in the other thread. Technically DC is 22-27 as he was suspended a game. But yes, he really should be 22-28 (which is a worse % than Glenn's first 4 years).

Didn't Glenn only have 11 games there for a coupple of years? He only had 12 in 2004 because of the Vegas Bowl.

I count the Boise game as a loss to DC because it was his actions that caused him to get suspended.
And yeah wasn't it just in the last 7 or 8 years that teams went from 11 games to 12?

Glenn's Records (first 4 years):
2003: 4-8
2004: 7-5
2005: 4-7
2006: 6-6

21/47=44.7%

DC's records (counting suspended game)
2009: 7-6
2010: 3-9
2011: 8-5
2012: 4-8

22/50=44%

Would be interesting to compare who played the toughest OOC schedule......cause CDC played some awfully easy ones.

GLENN:
2003: Montana St (W), @Oklahoma St (L), Kansas (L), @ Boise St (L)
2004: Appy St (W), @ Texas A&M (L), Ole Miss (W), Louisianna-Monroe (W) - - Bowl UCLA (W)
2005: @FLorida (L), Louisiana-Monroe (W), @ Ole Miss (W)
2006: Utah St (W), @Virginia (L), Boise St (L), @Syracuse (L)
2007: Virginia (W), Utah St (W), @Boise St (L), @Ohio (W)
2008: Ohio (W), North Dakota St (W), Bowling Green (L), @Tennessee (W)

Commendable wins:

Glenn - Ole Miss (x2), UCLA, Virginia, Tennessee

Christensen - Fresno (Maybe? Probably not), Toledo (Eh.)

Too bad Glenn couldn't get an offense that could score a bit more and hold possession a bit longer limiting the other teams NBAer of possessions. Some of those d's were pretty damn good even being on the field forever

Glenn couldn't recruit - the defense got worse and worse every year after peaking in 2006. But we had some damned good defenses. Glenn should have hired Christensen as his OC - the heyday of both of those coaches would have been unstoppable.

Up tempo spread offense plus 3-4 defense with some intelligent players would have been great!

Glen could beat the big guys but struggled to take care of business against the weak teams in the MWC.
While DC is totally opposite. Can't beat a big time program to save his life, but does work beating the crap teams. UNLV, csu, NM and sdsu.

12-4 against those teams, while losing to texas 3 times, nebraska 1 time, Boise 3 times and getting swept by the utes cougars and horny toads.

To me they are pretty equal but DC has a chance to be better because...Brett Smith.

Ultimatum, would you guys rather beat App. St., Cal Poly, Weber State, etc. (FCS) and lose to CSU or would you rather lose to Cal Poly and beat the Sheep?

To me, I just wanna beat the sheep every time.
And DC has done that so far and has a very good chance of beating them a 5th time in a row especially since it is in Laramie.

CSU during Glenn's tenure does not equal CSU during DC's tenure.

I'd rather beat the sheep...but in a year when both CSU and Wyoming lose to FCS opponents, the luster is a lost quite a bit.

It doesn't matter what they were, the fact is DC is 4-0 against them.

You are all over the place. How do you reconcile this statement with your earlier statement of "but DC is proving to be our most successful coach in quite a while". Seriously.

Proving. As in the pieces are in place. Returning a 2 year starter at QB with a very good chance to get to 8-10 wins this season. You say that their records are very identical after 4 years yes, but after 5, 26-33 was Joe Glenns record if I looked it up right. 44%
And Let's say DC gets us an 8-5, that is 47%. Not great, but at the same time that would be 3 bowls in 5 years. And infairness to Glenn, 3 bowl eligible season compared to 2.

I'm not saying he is Mack Brown or anything but he is a better head coach than Glenn.

And Glenn played a total of 6 ranked teams throughout 6 years. DC through 4 has played 12, 4 in each of his first 2 years, and 2 in each year since.

That's all hypothetical though.......majority of objective fans would disagree with the notion that UW will win 8-10 games this season. Not only was UW 4-8 this past season, but they were very close to being even worse (UNM/UI/UNLV really close games).....they could have been 1-11. So its hard to really accept the 8-10 wins.....Most people would put UW in the 5-7 win range for 2013. Part of me thinks UW is practically spotted 3 wins already in OOC play (UI, UNC, TSU).....but we thought that last year! Nobody in their right mind had Wyoming losing to Cal Poly. And if Brett hadn't come to the rescue, the Pokes would have been blown out at Idaho. Idaho!!!!!!! I know the kool-aid is being passed around, I'm just saying......you state the 8-10 wins as if its already happened or something. I think the chances of Wyoming repeating a 4-8 season are greater than an 8-10 win season. Hard to give CDC the edge for something that hasn't been achieved.

Through 4 years, Glenn was 12-18 in MWC play. DC was 13-18. Basically the same.
Winning % all the way through is pretty similar.
Glenn pulled off some big wins and in the big games that were losses the team was a lot more competitive. Like against Florida, Virginia and Syracuse.
Where DC gets smoked by the big teams.
Glenn doesn't lose to small teams, DC doesn't lose to CSU.
Glen recruited the Bramlets, Chris Pro and Wendling (all players who probably would have came to Wyo anyways but still credit goes to Glenn) and Thunder&Lightning. And on top of that Unrein and Fletcher and Knapton and Biezuns.
DC recruited ACS, Brett Smith, and AA. With his big D recruits being Shamiel Gary (who left), Burns, Huff, Ghalli Muhamed, and Purcell.

I know Luke Ruff was recruited by Glenn but DC liked him and kept the offer on the table. I don't know if Purcell was recruited by Glenn too, but I think that one is DC.

That is my best break down of them without trying to sound biased.

Thoughts?

That is true J-Rod, but like we have talked about before, we were "almost" going to another bowl game by not having Smith in the Cal Poly, AFA, and not finishing the Nevada game. So "almost" 1-11, but "almost" 7-5.
