David Tooley left the team! WTF. Ian Watts and Nehimie Kankalongo are suspended for the 1st game. This is pretty dissappointing

I think the suspensions show that nobody's exempt from team rules, which is a good thing. You could get away with stupid crap and not giving your all under previous coaching staffs. Not so much anymore.

It's sad that Tooley left, but as I have no idea why, I can't really comment on it.

Hmmm. I liked the kid last year, but face it, he is replaceable...and we have 10x the depth outside than we did last year, and no longer have to start & play headcases Bolling & Morgan, especially the latter.

And, if there was ever a game to sit, it would be against Southern Utah. Kids.

My cousin called, said UW also lost Battle (a RFR WR) and some DB he couldn't remember the kids name (so he must not be special) for good.

Browder is also suspended for the first game and the safety is Larry Mitchell per Gag's tweets

I thought Battle left after last season? Luckily without him and Tooley, it appears we have some depth at WR. I wonder if Tooley leaving had anything to do with his knee.

It may very well. Pretty nasty injury...the trifecta...ACL, MCL & Miniscus. What is more important if that is the case...we all know the answer.

I know finding out in one sitting that 6 guys are being suspended or are permanently leaving the team isn't pleasant, but lets face it, suspensions and defections are part of almost every college football team in the country. I hate to say it, but I suspect this will continue to occur year in and year out when you have a guy like Christensen running an intense/no-nonsense type of program. I'm sure there are many of you who support the "hard-ass" approach and some of you who dislike it. However, the reality of running a program like this is that it will burn some kids out enough that they just throw in the towel. Also, the fear of punishment doesn't always persuade many people to follow the rules, so we can expect to continue to see players being suspended every year.

I guess my main point is that these types of things are inevitable, especially in a program like Christensen runs. I still think we have a good football team.

I've been through 3 knee surgeries (almost 1 year after the other starting in my Junior year in High School), that can really eat at you. You can't help but think that you just might hurt it again. About the only way to overcome this, is through time. I still have trouble doing jump spinning kicks because I injured my knee to the point I had to have surgery.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boy I was riding high until this evening! The suspensions aren't a huge deal, but we know Kongo would have gotten some reps against SUU. Tooley leaving is a big disappointment! I'll almost call his catch "the catch" against CSU. I hope everything works out.

i thought tooley got hurt against SDSU? and thats a huge blow you can say he is replaceable but regardless huge blow he was big and athletic... Wonder why susspensions? MIP? DUI? those kind of things?

Nope. CSU game.

Damn.. I really liked Tooley, I had hopes this kid would be one of those Wide Outs that would set records at UW

So, do you think the three guys that got suspended were together when they did whatever they did to get suspended? I was thinking that Ian was a little too nerdy to be hanging with Kenny and Nehemie.

Well...

No. They were not all together. Kids will be kids, but they need to be smarter than they have been!

Watts is always in trouble...always has extra conditioning, etc.

Disappointing to hear that Watts is always in trouble. You would think after making the team as a walkon (especially when no one else was interested) and working his way up to starter he would be more appreciative of his place on the team.

Sorry to hear about Tooley. He ended his career with arguably one of the biggest and most important plays in recent Wyoming football history. However, after having multiple knee surgeries myself I can understand if he is going through some things mentally regarding his injury. Sometimes its hard to shake the feeling of not trusting the knee and the fear that another injury may occur. Best of luck to you David. I for one appreciate your short time as a Cowboy.
