Likely...not really, he is definitely done for the year. Hate to see it, we always hope for "injury free games" and that is such a joke...injuries happen every game. Being thin, hurts us a little more though.

That is a massive blow. Hard to not feel like the secondary will get carved up the rest of the season.

Season is basically over unless Colby suddenly becomes really good, Secondary is just in terrible shape if we can't stop Air Force through the air we can't stop anyone through the air.

We play for 1-2 Quarters out of the 4 required in a win, We could win a game if we create 5-6 TO's per game but that isn't going to happen very often at all. It's safe to say that we could lose out or maybe the players will learn something from that embarrassing loss.

I'm leaning towards a 4-8 ending and after watching our offense basically be non existent.

Next man up........and I see no reason to jump ship. Tough to travel to the Islands and play a game that last past 1:00 am Laramie time. We should have won, but laid an egg. See no reason to call the season at this point.....we're 3-3 for crap sake and still alive for everything.

To each his own...but GO POKES!!!

First-year Wyoming football coach Craig Bohl said prior to Tuesday’s practice senior free safety and co-captain Darrenn White tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee late in the first half at Hawaii, and his playing career at UW is over.

White is third on the team this season with 42 tackles.

UW went 1-5 without White after he was hurt in the Cowboys’ home game with New Mexico last season. Those struggles were not all because of White’s absence, but it played a factor.

The Cowboys missed White in the second half of the Hawaii game as the defense allowed 28 points, the secondary struggled to tackle and there were a few busted coverages that resulted in big plays.

Simple fact is we go shredded in the second half much of the reason was due to losing white. Third in tackles on the team is now gone it's not going to be pretty moving forward.

Poor guy. Hope he heals well, knee injuries are a bitch.

That done, maybe move Wacha to Safety? He has the speed and ability to tackle. As a linebacker, he does have a nose for the ball, but his lack of size works against him when a linemen gets to him.

Sorry to learn Darren had to end his college career this way!

I'm afraid Grayson is gonna have a career day on us.
I hate to say it, but if freaking Woolsey looked great post-White injury, just about any QB will look awesome vs. Wyoming.

Yeah, unless somebody randomly has an epiphany and realizes how to actually cover receivers back there, we're going to give up a LOT of big completions.

May has been practicing safety this week.
Serious question; has May ever played on defense before? He has good speed, no denying that, but what about tackling, coverage, and proper angles?

Play the RB with a shoulder injury at safety. Great idea.
I think the coaches are smarter than our fans. We're looking at a reverse Al Rich situation...who got hurt playing RB when he was far and away our best safety.

Assuming they really like Hill, then 3 excellent running backs with a porous secondary is a big imbalance. With recruits, Bohl often puts his top 2way players on D. Hill played both sides of the ball in HS too.

Well, I wouldn't mind Hill or Wacha taking over the safety position, so long as they can do a good job there. I hesitate on May because I don't think he ever played defense and he's a good change of pace back and one who can let Wick have a rest when he needs it.
