Interesting note from Ryan Holmgren that I read tonight...

DODDLES NOT PARTICIPATING

Freshman wide receiver Dameko Doddles hasn’t appeared in Wyoming’s past three games, and a UW spokesman said Monday that the Oklahoma City native is “focusing on academics.”

In addition to not playing in games, Doddles has not been participating in practice over the past few weeks.

I suspect that he's going to have a big role w/ the Cowboys in the coming years.. sounds like he needs to get some academic things squared away before he can play again.

Probably similar to whats his face on the basketball team that didn't practice or come to games to focus on his academics.

I guess he's taking what is essentially a redshirt year than.
Except he's already entered the field of play at some point this season I believe, so no redshirt available if that's the case

Tyrrell Williams. I hope dameko can work things out

Damn, damn damn. Dameko has massive potential in my opinion. I hope he gets it figured out and sticks with the team. Those who stay will be winners! You got this, Dameko!

academics? Isn't the guy a freshman?

Intro to everything/African American studies.......got to be more than that unless he just never bothered to even show up? He can still redshirt if he only played a certain amount of games early I believe.

No, you can't redshirt if you step on the field for even 1 play. You can apply for a hardship waiver, but that is typically only for injury, illness, or family tragedy; grades are not a reason for one.

He played, so this year counts.

You'd be surprised just how much some people can struggle with simple responsibilities.

Let's remember that not all of us have the same upbringing, experiences, families, etc. I know of several guys on the team who look to Coach Bohl and fellow players as fathers and brothers. (Goes without saying). Coach Bohl is an experienced guy. He has seen it all. I don't know Doddles current situation, nor do I care. I trust that he is learning life lessons that will hopefully translate to things far more important than a football field. We can sit here and speculate all day long, and, really, he may be working through personal stuff that should remain confidential.

If he is missing class, it is more important that he learns if you miss work someday, there will be consequences as well. This football thing is a microcosm of life. So, no matter what it is, I hope to see him back on the field, but even more, I hope he learns what he needs to learn. I have a lot more sympathy for people trying to work through issues than players who are out kicking people in the face at the bar.

get the kid some tutors....hold his hand....call his momma
LOL

If the kid is talented.....do what needs to be done. Explain what needs to be explained. Football equals college....no football......no college (at least no full ride).

Maybe that is what this is about...maybe not....but I don't get not having a kid play since that is the reason he is here. Make him live in the study hall/office wtf ever they call it now. Have a few cute tutors help him, etc etc.

I'd be willing to bet by next season he will have "left the team for personal reasons"
God I hope not, he has really good upside. He could be really good
I totally agree, but that's what it looks like to me...same deal with Williams on the basketball team, and he's not with them any more if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully he can turn it around and play for us though
