CUSA adding lots of schools

Right now this Alliance has 24 teams in it.14 in CUSA and 10 in the MWC. Question is, what happens after this? Does Utep and one other slide over? Do we hit the FCS ranks as well, maybe the Montana schools? Or do we split into pods of 6 with regionality primary, recruiting secondary (which actually keeps travel costs low and keeps rivalries intact).

I'm not sure this is a done deal. Certainly no one from Old Dominion has hinted at this. The news report is the first mention of us joining another conference that anyone has seen. If true, I hope Wyoming has ODU on the schedule sooner rather than later. Would love to see my two schools go at it!

Sounds like the Skunkapekiller manifesto 2.0/3.0 wasn't too far fetched? the "scheduling alliance" is the same of my "flex games" so yes wyoming might play odu and southern miss along with six conference rivalry games each year plus conf semi's (if your good enough to win your division) and a conference championship game with a chance at the 16 team national tournament?

I'm not proud I'm just saying that for a team like East Carolina to fly all over "Conf-USA" to play a football game when you already have schools in your backyard like ODU, Appy State, or Delaware to play doesn't make sense? Play your regional rivals for six game and play two flex or "scheduling alliance" games against two teams for across the country for a littel spice each year. East Carolina could have Wyoming and New Mexico coming there one year and next it could be Texas State and La-Tech and next year it could be Montana and North Dakota State?
Not sure what ODU fans you're hanging w/ Monarch, but it seems like ODU has had its eyes on FBS since they brought back football.

It's one the to want to move up to fbs, it's another to have a viable option. With the success the team has had, on the field and in terms of ticket sales/marketing, we knew it would happen eventually. But very few odu fans really thought a move up would happen this soon. The A10's grab for gmu/vcu really drove up the timeline. And again, before the cbssports article, there were no leaks of a possible move from the odu athletic department.

This whole realignment bullshit has given me a royal headache. I followed realignment since 1990 when Penn State was invited to join the Big 10. Now I can't stand it.
We picked the WRONG time to be bad at football & basketball. Lee Moon Sr., Dana Dimel, and others royally screwed us over!
