Can we just fire burman and sawful now and save the season long wait? We can all already see how this season is going to go.
Defense has regressed, offense still can't score, undisciplined players all over the field impacting every drive, bad clock management, on and on

IF I remember correctly Savwel was defensive backfield coach. He must have taught them how to blow coverages and play 8-10 yards off the ball on passing downs. Every team Wyoming plays will be running misdirection passing plays because the defensive backfield is undisciplined

Oh geez. This is not on Hughes. It’s on garbage coaching, uninspired play all over, undisciplined play and just a bad team.
It’s not just Hughes. All we heard leading up to this game was how deep and strong our defense was going to be. We got taken to the woodshed by a team that is picked second to last in the mighty pac. After watching this debacle, I don’t really see anything to be excited about. We’re fortunate that our league sucks, but is that really something to get excited about? Tonight was sickening and the rest of the season is going to be a shit show. Guess it’s time to look forward to basketball!

We are not a serious school. At all. Outside of a couple non-rev sports, our athletic department is one of the most dysfunctional ones I've ever seen.
And of course with the legislature continuing to gut academics as well....
Why in the shit would anyone want to come here for any reason? And how do they expect us to continue supporting the university, financially or otherwise? Hell, my daughter was born here and is a Laramite through and through...and after spending some time out of state, even came back here to take her gap year. But even she's seriously considering going elsewhere, in spite of me encouraging her to stay. She has neither academics nor athletics actually convincing her to attend UW.
Think about that. The University of Wyoming is so fucking dysfunctional right now it can't even convince highly motivated, high GPA student-athletes that were BORN AND RAISED IN LARAMIE to stay.

First interception: QB was hit during throw (still on Hughes)
Second interception: WR fell down on route
Third interception: deflected pass
I’m not trying to give excuses, but some of those bad plays aren’t on Hughes. I think he looks okay for the QB spot. This loss is t on him, IMO.

General Reeves,
I am sending you this email out of a place of emotion, but also from a place of common sense. Wyoming sports used to be a pillar of collegiate sports on a national level. That small school that everyone....and I mean EVERYONE feared to play. From the days where the Dome of Doom was a guaranteed loss to perennial national powers like Utah in the late 90s early 2000s, to the fear opponents felt coming into the War, at altitude, against Wyoming tough teams of the 90s.
For the past 30 years, Wyoming athletics has taken the stance of mediocrity. "If we can do the minimum, we win" attitude. Wyoming has not won an outright title (regular season) since the 2001-2002 Basketball team. I was there when we took on a Utah team that was the favorite with Rick Majerus on the sideline. The AA was packed to capacity (before the "remodel") and was the last time I felt that much pride in my Alma Mater.
We have had our blips of success. We have had our share of "got close". But we are talking a quarter century of mediocrity.
I implore you to take a look at the history of Wyoming athletics and honestly evaluate our current AD and his performance over the past 20 years. It has been close to 25 years since Wyoming Athletics has had a significant presence in the world of Collegiate Athletics and I am but one voice that remains passionate about our University, but by no means the only voice.
Please, take a real look at the state of Athletics and do what needs to be done.

Wyoming....Laramie and UW included....is simply a big ol' good ol' boys club. It's the entire reason Burman got his position in the first place, let alone has kept it for so long.
As long as they can tread water and do the bare minimum...and endure some occasional backlash that eventually goes away when anger and frustration inevitably turns to apathy....these motherfuckers will continue to just carry on in their cushy jobs with their cushy salaries and benefits and their "more important issues to work on" and their war against secondary education in general.
The only thing these people will pay attention to is DRASTIC drops in ticket and merch sales, TV ratings, and maybe a few hundred cars driving around every day with "Fire Burman" written in big bold letters on their rear windshields.
DO NOT....and I cannot stress this enough...DO NOT give this program any of your money. It's the only thing that will get their attention. Emails and social media heat aren't going to do shit. There has to be tangible, real-world heat that they can't ignore.
As long as we continue to spend hundreds each year at the B&G outlet, fill the stands every game, and toss the CJC even just a few bucks out of guilt every year....nothing is going to change.
Unfortunately, we have enough rabid casual fans that just like to have some sort of identity and/or just want to party at games that I doubt any kind of a boycott will actually be large enough to affect change.

They expect it because the overwhelming majority of the idiots in this state continue, and likely will continue, to support it out of some misguided sense of solidarity/loyalty/nostalgia, regardless of how abysmal every aspect of the school is now performing due to piss poor leadership and a complete lack of accountability.
The General has his work cut out for him, if he lasts that long. The last guy that acknowledged the serious issues within the university and attempted to address them got ran out of town in less than a year.
Wyoming folk love them some status quo.
