Apparently, the Ram fans are thinking that the "big buyout" is too much for a Power 5 conference to absorb. All this time I thought just FCS fanbases were delusional about the $$$ the elite levels will pay out to get coaching talent. *IF* CSU has a break out year, this or next...Mac will hit the road to the Power 5. $$$$ is not that big of an object for them.

Just a random turd cutter from internet. Gif is Rachel Williams, I think she's English and in Zoo magazine a lot

Despite what university administrators are saying, Jack Graham firmly believes the decision to fire him as CSU's athletic director "is all about the stadium."

Graham, 62, said Tuesday that he knows he ruffled some feathers while trying to transform the athletic department into one that could deliver the kind of success he believed was possible.

Basically he would have gotten along with our short term President and then two of them together would probably be pretty amazing to see.

Yep. I think those two paired together have what it takes to get a fanbase, alumni, board of trustees, etc. to get the funding and vision to get into a BCS conference.

There is a reason the Wyomings and CSU's are left behind people. We get some people with some balls and some ideas then they get shit canned because those big ideas are "too much" for norm.

Meanwhile, TCU and Utah are making more money now than ever, and like I've said before, a 2-10 season in the Big12/Pac12 brings in more money for the athletic department and university AS A WHOLE then a 10-2 season in the MWC.

Not that I disagree that we need new vision, we do, but we don't have a chance in hell of making a P5 conference.

Who knows...hindsight being whatever...pisses me off to read it, see it, and know it true.

Had Burman not short-timed McClain and hired his douchebag buddy...and McClain not thrown his fucking resume on Monster looking for another gig...and more importantly had Meyer and Glenn been swapped (as Glenn was Utah's target as well)...and had we never had Lee Moon at the helm...and maybe had the state / BOT / UW matched bWHYu's athletic budget instead of San Jose State's athletic budget in 1998...

Things would be different. Cause and effect. Mr. Destiny type of shit.

I definitely don't disagree that we should be in much better shape but success isn't driving the bus. It is a component but advertising potential is even bigger. To even have a glimmer of hope, we would have to have a substantial and demonstrated market penetration in the Front Range and rival CU for interest. I'm not sure even sustained athletic success could have gotten us the necessary TV market potential.

It is what it is, but there is no reason that we shouldn't be challenging for the G5 access spot--well other than the reasons you outlined.

Nailed it...so true.

Anyone who believes CSU should make a move to the Big XII is not a visionary. He is a moron. Once they get more than 700 people to show up and watch a competitive football and basketball team, maybe they can start dreaming.

This is the CSU vs. Nevada game in 2012

This needs to go up on social media with tags appropriate for CSU recruiting information.
