The Cowgirls will host a first round WNIT game this Friday the 19th against Nevada. The game time is scheduled to be announced on Tuesday the 16th. Go to womensnit.com for info

A win on Friday, and we will host another game Monday at the AA.

A couple of other things:

Former Cowgirl (Tahnee Robinson) is playing for UNR, and was the WAC newcomer of the year this year. Most of you will remember why she didn't last at UW...too bad, she is obviously talented, averaging somewhere around 16 ppg.

If UW makes it to the round of 16, guess who the opponent likely will be? bWHYu. And we could potentially see Utah vs. New Mexico in the other round of 16 match-up (SAME BRACKET)! Round of 8 could be all MWC as well. Horrible seedings, IMO. The NCAA should have split the MWC teams better.

I must have missed it, fill me in on why this girl left UW?

I know there is more to the story than this, but basically she left the program for personal reasons during her first year (she was pregnant). She took a year off (for obvious reasons) and then resurfaced at Sheridan JC. She had a great career at Sheridan and had quite a few D1 offers. She ended up and Nevada at has had a great season.

As far as why she was not recruited by UW coming out of Sheridan? I don't know the answer except that it has posted on here in the past (or on GWG, whichever) that those bridges were burned on both sides. I don't know any details.

She would have been a nice complement to this year's Wyoming team. She can score from anywhere.

FWIW, I am not sure that is true anymore...Texas Tech averages over 6K or something for attendance. So, if they win (against Houston) and the Cowgirls win (against UNR), the next round game may end up being in Texas.

Let's hope that the weather doesn't turn to total crap on Friday and people get to the game. I may be kidding myself but I can see 7 or 8 K showing up.

Ok, so I just looked at the updated forecast...Son of a bitch..doesn't look good. I was pumped the game was going to be on a Friday night, now that looks like the worst night possible for the first round.

Lot of hotel rooms still available in L-town from what I saw. Make a weekend of it. The weather isn't going to be THAT bad anyway.

Looks like all roads are closed west of Laramie. Snowplows don't appear to be out at this time (trying to get them open).

They will be open by 10:00 am surely.

Oh, and Texas Tech beat Houston last night, so unless the AA packs in 6 or 7K tonight...with a Cowgirl win...it is off to Lubick IMO.

No unnecessary travel:
Laramie - WYO 34 between US 30/287 to the Platte County line

Bah no big deal. We have aggressive tires on the trucks

The attendance at the Tech/Houston game was only 2663. If all roads were closed going into Laramie we will still pull 3500 easily. We win we should be in good shape to host another. Win, of course, being the keyword!

That was the most fun Ive had in the AA all year.
They play better when they need to and they play together.
Also I love the way Joe is willing to talk to fans over the rail in game. And that he talks up his team on the radio after the game instead of taking all the credit or saying they won because they finally listened to him.
Sadly I only saw one Cowboy at the game. Which surprised me because it was Afam. Still on crutches with his Ipod btw.
Ill be there Tuesday along with I bet no less than 8k+. Lets hope the girls take TT.

Since it will be here in Laramie, I won't be too worried, as the Dome of Doom will be rockin'!

I think you are right...it will be rockin'. Lord knows the men haven't given us reason to cheer for much of anything. All the pent up anxiety and absolute dismay over the Cowboys will hopefully translate into good things for the Cowgirls.

Watching the NCAA men's tourney only makes me more angry about the state of our program. I didn't see one team, in the entire field of 65, that we are close to competitive with...and that includes the 16 seeds. Thanks a lot Heath...
