Why Cody Kelley is seeing minutes in the first half of a close game...
Who else are you going to play at PG behind Lieberman?
What about your boy Herndon like last week? What about James? JMac can bring it up and initiate the O, Gorski can bring it up and initiate the O.... what has Kelley shown that he deserves to be #2 at PG?

What has he done to show that he hasn't deserved it? What's wrong with having depth in the guard rotation?

I don't understand your hard on for Cody Kelley.

Jesus. This board is ridiculous. I make one comment about him and now I have a hard on for him?
And have you watched him? He's slow, unathletic, and short. It's a terrible combo. Add on to that his play while he was in and it leads me to think we have other options...

I'm just not going to prejudice a player because he's short and he's white. I would rather have depth at the guard rotation, and I trust the coaches more than a drama queen that spends his entire time bitching about someone or something wrong with our basketball team.

Our interior defense looks terrible. :D

Shouldn't you be checking peoples twitters to see if they meet your morality standards?

Come on fellas its gonna be a long season if ya keep this up.

Team seems to have some depth to it with a healthy Adams. If they have a winning season this year the future is gonna be very promising.

Gee, what a surprise.......

GEE isn't it the same idiots that picked our football team dead last

Description of the game from a SDSU fan:

"Watching that was like having somebody slowly remove a bandaid from a very hairy part of your body. You just wanted it over with!"

For some reason it seems like the MWC writers typically use the previous year's final standings for the predicted order of finish for the upcoming year. Sometimes they might tweak it, but very rarely do they look at who from each team left and who is coming back. Also, they very rarely seem to factor in improvement via maturity. I don't think they think very hard. It is like they think nothing changes from one year to the next.

So I haven't had a chance to watch the team yet. For those of you who have, what are the biggest differences you see from a Shyatt-lead team and this team?

Honestly not much, imo. We'll occasionally shoot it earlier in the shot clock and run out in transition a little bit more. Offense looks identical. Just piss it out on the perimeter and jack threes all game. Kinda disappointing

The only thing I have really noticed is at times they seem to play without reigns. I think Edwards lets them get out and be athletic a little more. I don't know how else to explain it. They just seem to be a little more free with decisions instead of being restricted to certain cuts/looks or nothing.

They also play pretty sound D (as much as our physical limitations allow) and swarm nicely. Should be a fun team to watch.

I think part of it is that they are still trying to figure things out after the coaching change. The other piece is just a personnel issue. We don't have players that can create off the dribble (for the most part, JJ is an exception) and we don't have guys that command a double team in the post (Naughton will get there I think). What we do have is shooters all over the floor as we usually play with at least 4 perimeter threats (5 when we play a Herndon/Dalton front court as we have over the last two games). So you see a lot of screening action and ball reversal/rotation to free up a perimeter shooter. It isn't moving as fluid as I would like, but it is early.
