The fact that the majority of players being offered lack a single other FBS offer is highly concerning to me. I'll give Bohl a pass this year given the circumstances, but I hope to see a drastic change in the level of player being recruited next year. If Bohl thinks the top level FCS talent can compete when facing FBS teams on a weekly basis, he is sorely mistaken. It's one thing to use the "David vs. Goliath" mentality to knock off 1 or 2 FBS teams a year, but it will be completely different facing that level of team every single week. TCU and Utah are perfect examples. They didn't magically get dramatically worse when they left the MWC, but the grind of the Big 12 and PAC 12 conference schedule has proven to be a difficult task for teams who routinely knocked off the big boys in once a year bowl games.
Grittiness and toughness is great, but that alone isn't going to be enough to walk out of Boise or Fresno or San Diego with a W in hand. People seem to act like toughness and talent are mutually exclusive. Why can't Bohl recruit tough players who are talented as well? I'm not expecting him to land 4 and 5 star recruits, but some players that at least one other FBS staff deems worthy of a scholarship offer would be nice.
