I'm gonna be the internet d-bag and say i told you so.
No one is thinking this team will do shit for some reason and I am sittin here arguing that we will and now that they play a game and have some stats everyone is all over the bandwagon agian

I don't know who all these people are that think the team won't do shit or what your representation of shit is or isn't. Most people predicted the team to be about the same as last year with a soft SOS we should be. But at the same time I think most people also think we are a 50% conference win team which to me is still reasonable.

No bandwagoning going on here yet. Just happy we have at least one team we can actually watch win because they are good.

The kool-aid pitcher's label has been switched to Men's BB. This team will win some games, but conference season will be brutal. But hey, they smashed CSU last year and beat UNLV, so who know, maybe we pick up a couple more this year.

I don't think anyone was ever off of the bandwagon but I'm not quite sure by what you mean by on the bandwagon? I don't think anyone here is claiming that Wyoming is going to finish in the top 3 in the MWC this year after one exhibition game which was against very bad competition.

Everyone here knows Wyoming will be in most every game if for no other reason than we have a good coach and he teaches them to play hard defense. I think everyone is enthusiastic about what some of our younger guys can bring to the table and they will continue to get better and grow with each game but I believe everyone would like to see what they can do against a UNLV or a San Diego St. team before saying they will finish in the top 3 in the conference based on beating Fort Lewis.

I still don't think we finish any higher than 4th tops in the conference but probably closer to 5th or 6th just because the league is so tough. I really don't think we will know how good we are until conference play starts anyways because most of our non conference games are so weak.

Like I said before though, I hope your prediction is right because I would love nothing more than to see Wyoming in the big dance again, especially with as young of a team as we have. That would be great.

I think we hit 4th. MAYBE 3rd. No way do I think that we win the regular season championship. But if we enter the MWC tourney in Vegas as a 3 or 4, I think that we CAN win the tourney. Only for the fact that if you are in the top 3 or 4 in the league you have proven yourself and the MWC tourney gets CRAZY

But yeah because we DESTROYED csu and should have beaten them in Foco. and we beat unlv AND we took SDSU to overtime in san diego AND had a womens high school score again new mexico (38-48) I think we have already proven that we are here to compete with shyatt. We aren't just getting lucky (DC-football) but we are actually a legit team.
The MWC is going to be hard because WE are in it and only the 4th best team. The MWC isn't hard because NM SDSU UNLV are top 3 but because they depth you find after it

Didn't you have us finishing 13-3 in the MWC just a couple of days ago? Now we are 4th?

I can understand 4th as a prediction (I think 6th, but would love to see them higher), but the 27-3 prediction (which would make us a Top 15 type of team with the MWC SOS this year) is out of whack IMHO.

That seems to be the consensus. The schedule will be tougher this year though (sounds strange considering the weak OOC, but still true since last year's OOC was pathetic as well). Basically we replaced TCU with Fresno (probably a wash) and then replaced two weak OOC games (home and homes vs. UVU for example) with an at-large quality team in Nevada.

A reasonable goal is CBI/CIT, this team would exceed expectations with a NIT or NCAA berth IMO and I would love to see it.

Whereas Legerski hasn't finished below .500 in MWC play since his first season, the men haven't had a winning conference record since 02-03. Yep, 10 years.

Shyatt took a nice step last year and I just want to see steady growth and development of the young players and I will be happy.

Just FYI the game wasn't "@ Fort Lewis" FLC is a school in colorado. The game was in Ethete, Wyoming.

Yup I know just didn't want to put neutral location in the title.

I kinda figured as much, No biggie, just wanted to put that out there in case someone didn't know and was thrown off by the title.

Yep. If there's one town in Wyoming that deserved this due to the reputation of their high school team, it's Wyoming Indian. They've seal clubbed people for years. They'll beat 4A teams. They've got a great basketball history. Their gym seats 3000.

I've got much love for Wyoming Indian. They've earned the kudos.
