This dual was actually a lot closer than it should have been. Air Force has a couple real good wrestlers, but are not too deep as a team. Tyler Cox came up with a big win that will go a long way toward seeding at the regional and nationals!

I don't get why High School hockey in Wyoming isn't a thing.
I am not a huge hockey fan but if the AA had some ice and we have even 6000 people in there, and they sold damn beer the student section would be a rockin!
UW baseball is something that would be BAD ASS. Yes we would be playing a lot of our games in the early part of the season on the road but that is what a lot of teams do.
Maybe someday when I'm rich I will pay for an indoor baseball stadium? :lol:

Let's see, wrestling is the second most profitable sport for UW (in terms of dollars in vs. dollars out). Wrestling has much higher participation in Wyoming than Hockey and Nordic Skiing. Wrestling requires MUCH LESS infrastructure and maintenance of facilities than all of the sports you just named. Baseball, Hockey and Softball would be absolutely enormous expenses to establish...
yet...you cite "money" as the reason for dropping wrestling...gawd I hope noone ever puts you in charge of any finances (California makes more sense than you)

As far as Wrestling goes, I am not a fan of the sport, but I believe it is a good choice for UW. A cost effective opportunity to compete nationally in a sport. Hockey and Baseball/Softball are not realistic alternatives. Both would require infrastructure upgrades that we can't afford (rather put that money into improving the A-A for basketball and towards an aquatic facility).
Hockey is stupid popular in Montana.. but none of the universities here have their own teams, just club teams. It's an expensive sport to get going.
