LeBlanc and Martinez both have first round wins.

VomBaur and Onufer were both beat in the first round. Onufer had a disappointing match and was dominated most of the way through. Hopefully Onufer can come back through the wrestlebacks and get into the placing.

Update: LeBlanc in the quarterfinals to face the #2 seed Dergo from Illinois. Michael Martinez was 1-1 on the day, he will start off tomorrow with Frey from Princeton. Onufer also 1-1 on the day will take on Asper from Maryland. Vom Baur was 0-2 on the day, and is now eliminated. Wyoming is currently in 37th w/ 6.0 points. Iowa is leading at 34.5 points. OK St 2nd w/ 26 pts.

LeBlanc upsets the #2 seeded wrestler in Sudden Victory 10-8. He caught him in a nearfall in the first period to go up 4-1, the other guy seemingly took LeBlanc down at will the rest of the way, but Joe got him OT! Way to go Joe!

BTW, here is a great story on Joe from high school:

Martinez wins his wrestleback match 7-3 against Frey, Onufer got beat 9-1 so he's done.

LeBlanc will wrestle tonight in the semis versus #6 Maxwell Askren of Missouri.

Martinez will face #9 Jarrod Patterson of Oklahoma later this morning.

Onufer must have been sleepwalking through this tournament.. not like him.
Glad to hear about LeBlanc.. he wins tonight, and he'll be an all-American the easy way.. he loses, he'll have to work for it the hard way.
Hopefully we hear about Martinez soon.

Martinez just finished off Patterson of Oklahoma 6-3. He'll wrestle again tonight against #4 Anthony Robles of Arizona State. Martinez lost to him earlier in the year 7-3. This'll be a tough match for Martinez.

Interesting enough, the guy Martinez faces tonight (Anthony Robles)is a guy with only one leg. Pretty inspiring story if you Google him.

Nope! Leblanc is already guaranteed All-American and can finish no worse than 6th!! He faces Max Askren which is a tall order. Max has a brother Ben that is one of the best wrestlers to ever compete in college. Come on Joe!!!

Agreed, it's gonna be tough for Joe to knock off two very good wrestlers in a row. Askren beat Kilgore from Kent State 8-5 to advance. Joe lost to Kilgore 8-4 earlier in the year.

Wow.. great for Martinez. Another win for him would be good stuff.

Anyone have updated team standings?

Martinez loses 10-1. LeBlanc loses by a takedown in OT. He had an escape with 1 second left that was called out of bounds which would have won him the match. Askren had riding time to take it to OT.

Check that. Martinez is done at this point. One Cowboy left, and that's LeBlanc. A win tomorrow morning and he'll wrestle for 3rd place. He'll face off w/ Foster from Oklahoma State. Foster defeated LeBlanc earlier this season 10-5 in Laramie. Right now he'll finish no lower than 6th and as high as 3rd. Good luck Joe!!

LeBlanc whoops Foster 8-3 will wrestle Cannon from American for third. If you get ESPNU he'll be wrestling here in a bit.

He gets revenge on Foster after a huge mistake when he wrestled him in Laramie. Joe cut him with a couple seconds left thinking he had cut down Fosters riding time, but instead Foster had the minute which sent it to OT where LeBlanc lost

Leblanc takes 4th place!! He beat two very very good wrestlers in this tournament in Foster and Dergo...and the best thing, he has two more years!! (as well as Martinez and Onufer)
