Cowboy Joe Club nets new record at auction

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The main fundraising arm for University of Wyoming athletics has set a record for its annual auction event.

For the first time in its history, the annual Cowboy Joe Club auction eclipsed the $300,000 mark in net profit.

The auction held last Friday in Cheyenne netted an all-time record $300,808 and attracted a sold-out crowd of 650 Wyoming fans from across the region.

The money raised will be used for student-athlete scholarships and resources. This year’s total surpasses last year’s net total by more than $75,000.
