Apparently there may be an appearance by Joakim Noah from the Bulls as well.

I had planned on going to this, but picked up a DJing gig for Friday night yesterday. I hope someone will post some highlights so those of us that couldn't make it can see what happened!

Stuck in Lexington, Nebraska tonight and maybe tomorrow. Horrible winds right now on I-80, so I won't be able to make it.

I'll be recovering form knee surgery for the next few weeks afterwards. I get it done Tuesday.

Nope. Fort Collins. The surgery that I needed done, the doctors out at Gem City refused to do. Instead, they wanted me to do physical therapy for who knows how many months. I did PT for 3 months originally, but my knees never got any better and half the time I couldn't even do it because my knees hurt so much.

University of Wyoming fans are invited to tipoff the Cowboy basketball team's 2011-12 season with "A Night of Madness" on Friday, Oct. 14th in the Arena-Auditorium. Held in conjunction with the UW Homecoming Sing and Friday Night Fever, the event will feature special appearances by several members of the Wyoming Athletics family, and will be emceed by ESPN's Jeff Van Gundy.

With doors opening at 7 p.m. for the free event, fans can take in a yearly tradition at Wyoming in the Homecoming Sing. Sponsored by the Iron Skull Honorary Society, organizations from around campus compete to see which can show off the most school spirit starting at 7:30 p.m. "A Night of Madness" will follow immediately after the Homecoming Sing is concluded.

Van Gundy, a former NBA head coach and current ESPN analyst, will be on hand to host the event that features UW head coaches Carrie Yerty (volleyball), Dave Christensen (football), Joe Legerski (women's basketball) and Larry Shyatt (men's basketball). A special guest from the NBA's Chicago Bulls will also make an appearance, before a video introduction of the 2011-12 Cowboy team taped by ESPN's Dick Vitale. Hypnotist Chris Jones will conclude the night's activities with a performance.

A portion of Wyoming's "Night of Madness" will air tape-delayed on ESPNU Midnight Madness. Beginning at 7 p.m. MT that night, the four-hour special will preview top college programs in whip-around coverage of numerous basketball events across the nation.

"A Night of Madness" will be dedicated to the family of former UW Faculty-Athletic Representative and English professor Janet Constantinides and her husband, Chris. The Constantinides' son, Alex, lost his wife and children in a tragic automobile accident this summer. Shyatt and the Cowboys are spearheading a fundraising effort to support the Half the Sky Foundation, an organization that has meant a great deal to the Constantinides family. Fans will have an opportunity to donate to the foundation during the evening.

Cowboy and Cowgirl season tickets are available online at wyomingathletics.com or by phone at
877-WYO-FAN1. Ticket office representatives will be able to assist customers with their season ticket purchases throughout the night's events.
