Could we finish 3-6 with no bowl game?

I'm shocked!

I think we will go to a bowl game. But I also think it is a long shot (after watching the first 3 games). I am not an idiot to bet on a longshot.

So...that being said...

3 & 0 to start is exactly what I expected.

I expected losses to Nebraska, SDSU, and Boise State. Still do.

I expected TCU, AFA, USU, and CSU to be toss ups. Still do.

I expected wins against UNLV & NM. Still do.

So, themangina, I expect at worst the Pokes will finish 5 & 7. At best (very best), 9 & 3. 7 & 5 and a bowl game, therefore, is not unrealistic. Am I willing to bet on it? Come back, and ask me on October 16th, the mid-point in our season.

The method to my madness (expectations):

SDSU is away...and is rolling this year. TCU being at home (and our last shot at them). We are due against the AFA. CSewe is CSewe. USU has obviously proven they can play. New Mexico blows...BAD...and is at home. We owe UNLV, it is home, and homecoming. Boise & Nebraska are Boise & Nebraska.

I have looked at that gif probably 100 times, and it cracks me up everytime. Found it on another board, and had to share it. The whole spike-nutsack-shove is hilarious.

I'm fairly certain that most of us Cowboy fans weren't realistically expecting to go bowling this season, especially once we found out that we would have to be going to battle every Saturday with a true freshman QB,not to mention a whole slew of other underclassmen at various positions.
I like most of the rest of us would love to see the Pokes squeeze out 7 wins and make a bowl game this season, but I'm realistic. Hell, in my pipedream the Pokes would win out and play for the BCS championship this season. But realistically I'm expecting 4-6 wins and hoping for improved play on both sides of the ball and to be competitive in every game.

Before the season I understand not expecting to go bowling.. But now that we are 3-0, theres a lot of sunshine pumpers here, I figured I'd get a few more than 1 who believes we can finish the 3-0 start with a bowl game. You expect 4-6 wins after our 3-0 start? That means we finish 1-8 to 3-6. Not good. I agree with you, but definitely not what I expected to hear from the people here.

Seems to me you just fabricated an non-existent position to assist in your trolling.

Most Wyoming fans expected to be 3-0 at this point and to not reach 7 wins overall. We are 3-0 and have looked generally worse than I thought we would (although better at QB), so I don't see any reason why expectations should be heightened.

This does get a 4/10 on the trolling though, although I preferred your other handle. It was more creative.

Exactly Nowhere. He is just manufacturing people to argue with. I havent seen anyone pumping sunshine like he claims. Although now I suppose he will create YET ANOTHER handle so he can post crap to try to prove his point. I think most fans are just as you indicated, optomistic and glad we are 3-0, but disappointed in many respects. The offense is actually better than I expected but the defense is FAR FAR worse than i thought. So, we just take each game as it comes see how it goes. Why anyone is arguing over what their final record will be is beyond me.

There's probably a lot more people that think we will go to a bowl game. But they may feel that placing a bet on a forum with someone they never met that may not pay if he loses is silly. Especially when they could get much better odds placing legit bets with the Pokes. Making a bowl game this season will be a struggle, which is a shame, because 6-6 is a strong posibility but some bone head scheduled 2 FCS teams. Scheduling one FCS team and another "usually not so good" team from a non-AQ conference would have been a better play. That way, you win six you go to a bowl game and if you don't win six, you don't deserve to go. I feel we're going to win six and stay home. No fun road trip to end the season and a whole lot of missed extra practices for a young squad.

Yep. It was a last minute thing, so choices were pretty limited.

I suppose we had to scramble, but everyone else in the conference with the exception of AF seemed to only schedule one FCS team. So they all figured it out. And AF replaced their away BYU game with a home FCS team, giving them 7 home games. They probably figured that they're a lock to win 7 games so why not get an easy win and an extra home game. If we win one of our next two games we'll have a shot at 7 wins anyway.
