Could Leonard Washington be our hidden gem?

I think he could. We've heard of the potential baggage that he brings in light of being dismissed from USC for attitude and academic issues. Along with sack tapping Blake Griffin and folding him like a lawn chair.

He seems humbled by his demeanor on the bench this past year, and if he gets the proper guidance this guy's potential is sky high. He'll be an intimidating force and finishes very well under the basket based on the few practices Shroyer let me watch last year. I look forward to seeing him progress in this system.

He will be the starting PF me thinks

Starting lineup?

C--Waddell
PF - Washington
SF- ??
SG -- Cruz (martinez?)
PG -- Gilmore

I could see the logic behind Gilmore. In Shyatt's system, the better defenders are going to be on the floor the majority of the time. That would definitely point towards Gilmore, but Shyatt will get more defense out of Heath's guys then Heath did.

It will be interesting to see who's the starters at the beginning of the season and who the starters are by tournament time. I expect it to be drastically different.

He has Afam, Nance, or Marshall to fill the SF-?? spot. That is not a bad group to choose from. There is quality depth at every position that we haven't seen for awhile. My guess is this staff will get the newcomers as much PT as they can right away to prepare for conference.

Is everybody writing off (Lack) Luster in favor of (Delerious) Gilmore?
Luster will see plenty of playing time, he may not start but the guy has heart and hustle.

His defense is "in your face", and while his o-game seems out of control sometimes, and does miss fg's and ft's way too much, he was likely a product of the spastic offense he was obliged to run as the trigger man.

I wouldn't count him out.

Look for Luster to be a favorite of Shyatt's. He may not have an elite game, but he was the only player on our team who gave a fuck when we were down 30 to some directional school. He will see the floor and plenty of it.
