Credit where credit is due. Lost in all of the "big plays" of the night, Cooper hit clutch kicks. Atta boy Cooper.

:thumb: Was just coming to post the same thing. GREAT job tonight Coop.

Ethan did his part too. 5 punts, 4 inside the 20, avg 46.

And Hollister. Where do I start with him.

A TE with 6-144, 2 TDs. POTW? Co-POTW with Allen?

Pump for SDSU ran for 220-something, no TDs.
McNichols 143, 2 TDs in the L.
Potter for Joser 292, 2 TDs.

Did anyone else in the conference do anything of note?

Kid's like this are the reason the Pokes are where they are. This is first real kicker the team has had in years. Those field goals are BIG part of the reason the Cowboys win yesterday. The punter Wood has had clutch moments this year too. I know they've had some miscues too but WWWWWAAAAAAYYYYYYY less then years past. From not being able to make PATs to clutch field goals. Weak punts into coffin corners and pin backs. Huge part of the process of having Wyoming football viewing going from cringe worthy to be being full on fun. Hats off to the kids!

You can easily make the argument, both Kickers won us that game. Wood constantly pinned them deep and Rothe put points on the board when we needed them the most.

When was the last time we, the WYOMING COWBOYS, had a kicking game that is winning us games! What a time to be a Cowboy fan!

It's a shame Ethan graduates this year. He's a bad ass.

It will be fun to see Cooper grow. Imagine him next year after an off-season in the weight room. Hopefully, he'll be able to add 15 yards to his current range.

I'm just happy he's gaining confidence slowly but surely. That miss after he was frozen vs NIU could easily have screwed with his head enough that he'd start missing PATs.

It's great to see him starting to pound them through from 40 yards as he's got the leg to hit them from a lot farther out. While he's missed almost all over 40 yards, at least he's 7/9 inside 39 yards and 33/33 on PATs.

I said after those four misses in two games that I wasn't really worried. Here's why: The staff showed they had confidence in him by continuing to send him out there. This is completely different than last year, when Bohl was scared to send out the FG unit at times.

Luckily the Pokes already have a punter in the wings ready to take over for Ethan once he graduates. He's a walk-on at the moment, from Oklahoma.

Having a real kicking game to get points when you can't punch it in is huge

Here's a fun stat....

Since 2000, only 3 Wyoming kickers (of 13 total) made more career PAT kicks than Rothe.

1. Williams (11-14) 119
2. Yaussi (03-05) 102
3. Watts (09-10) 41
4. Rothe (2016) 31

ESPN says he has 33 PATs, not 31. ;)

Good catch. Sports Reference says the numbers were through 8 games, but for some reason didn't count yesterday's pair of PATs in the tally.

Not since 2009.

If Rothe keeps upping his % he'll be a weapon for the next few years. And you can't say enough for our punting this season. Wood is absolutely killing our opponents and constantly putting them in bad field position, many of his "inside the 20" are really inside the 10. And when he's not dropping them inside the 20 he's banging them for distance +/or making them fair catch. Opposing teams have not used our punting to their advantage.
