Derek Cooke Jr will workout for the Denver Nuggets tomorrow, according to a Nuggets press release.

Whoa! Awesome news. Too bad its a goddamn greenie pro team
Still what a great thing for DC. That kid put in a lot of hard work at his time in UW to improve his game. I'd love to have the chance to see him get to play ball again in the pros. Good luck to DC. :thumb:

I'm willing to bet not many other NBA teams work him out.

I could be wrong, but I get the feeling they are working him out simply because he is played at a D1 school in their back yard.

I have been super impressed with DC. Always has a smile on his face, always busts his ass, and doesn't seem to take life for granted. I'm proud that we had him wearing the brown & gold, and wish him nothing but the best in the future!

The NBA loves potential and upside. I think DC has tons of upside and potential. Most of the time that means the player is really young but DC isn't that young but he hasn't played much ball and is still imporving by leaps and bounds. He has a long ways to go before making the NBA nad it is obviously a very long shot but if he continues to work hard and catches some lucky break I could see him getting a shot.

Saw he worked out with the Suns today too. Not sure if it's a sign of a potential offer or that he'll end up in the D-League, but good for him.

Cooke got a nice little mention on 9News today about his workout with the Nuggets. A little late, but any press about a former Wyoming guy is good press, especially in Colorado.

Are we thinking DC gets drafted?
Unlikely. He'll be a summer league guy, and maybe he'll latch on to get a training camp invite. But most likely he'll be in the NBDL or overseas.

Not drafted but a team could sign him and work on developing him.

there are only 2 rounds in the NBA draft so not many kids get drafted. He is still raw and very athletic so if he can continue to develope I wouldn't count him out.
