We need some guys that want to work hard in the offseason. Haldorson Cooke have shown they don't put in the work like nance Grabau and Adams did

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner!!! :willybs:

There are 7 year olds who hit more layups than Cooke.

I disagree. Cooke has improved a lot since last year. Yeah he misses to many free throws and those need to improve and he has occasionally missed a dunk or lay up but OVERALL he has improved dramatically from last year. He has shown some flashes at times with some really athletic moves.

Yeah he does need to improve more between now and next year though but saying he didn't work hard in the off season and that he didn't improve is wrong. It has hurt him though since Nance has been out.

Does anyone have any insight on Herndon and McMannen? Do you think the redshirt will help them? They bring some size and if the rumors are true about Sellers and Haldorson I definitely think you bring in a JUCO small forward to help with rebounding

I think he still leads the team in shooting percentage. Yes he misses some and his misses are more noticeable since they're from point blank range, but you don't lead the team in shooting percentage because you suck when you're getting a lot of minutes.

He hit some big free throws and dunks down the stretch today. He's our second best post player without debate.

Bashing Cooke is inappropriate IMO. He brings a lot to the team and is at the moment our best big man. He needs an offensively capable big next to him, like Larry Nance, but he is a solid contributor.

Exactly. I think a lot of people are going to be really glad we have him next season. He's a major contributor and one of few capable big men on the roster.

He's still the second best rebounder, second best interior defender, and second best big man on the team. With Nance out, you can make that the best rebounder, interior defender....

The thing about Cooke is that he is very very athletic and he did improve compared to last year and with Shyatt coaching him I guaranty you that he will improve a lot from this season to next and most will be very happy to have him on the team next year. I bet Wyoming will look very very athletic next year with Cooke and Adams on the floor together and if Nance can come back healthy it will be great.

With Nance being out it is actually helping Cooke from the stand point that he has to try and pick up the slack on his own down low and improve so it will help him in the long run.

If it is not a direct dunk, Cooke can't hit it. Even then he can be macho and dunk too hard so that it slams off the rim. No finesse. They need to work with him on that. He cannot hit a 2 ft. fade away jumper or even a 2 ft straight away jumper. Work. Work. Work, Cooke.

One of Cooke's biggest problems this year was making ESPN's top 10 and thinking is is a dunking monster. Next is his 42% FT avg. Bend your f'ning knees a little and don't throw the ball at the rim. A little arc will go a long way in taking that percentage into the 70% range. The little things....

I believe he went 5-7 today and only 2 of those were dunks. He misses some at bad times but you guys are far to hard on him than he deserves. The kid kept us in the game at the 3/4 point of the game.

Yeah, I don't get the criticism of Cooke. I expect him to be a solid contributor next year on both ends of the court. He is a work in progress, but I have seen improvement in several facets (FT shooting being the notable exception).

I totally agree. As soon as he learns that he needs to go up strong with his body shielding his shooting hand from contact, he'll stop missing those layups. If he can add that to his game with some free throw shooting, he'll be a nightmare in the post.

Cooke is a product of his env't, confidence is a wonderful thing and man oh man once he got some we sure saw a totally different player!!! Next year after a summer of nothing but free throw shooting, I think we'll be a-ok
