Conference ONLY Stats

I figured I would follow up the overall stats thread that was put together with a look at conference only stats so far.

From looking at these Moemeka needs to be playing a lot more. He has only got extended minutes one game. I understand his stats could be skewed a little bit since he has only played limited minutes but he seems to get things done when he is in. Every time he gets in for a couple minutes Edwards pulls him out pretty quick. Also Gorski needs to keep playing as he turns it over less per game and less per minute than any other back court player and he also has one of the highest points per minute. James and Dalton both need to play more but both need to cut down on turnovers, especially Dalton. James only playing 20 minutes a game in conference I do have to admit is pretty bad. Also Adams as athletic as he seems he really hasn't done much overall from a per game or per minute perspective. Maybe because he was out a couple games he just needs to get going again but he hasn't done much from an overall stand point.

Naughton's stats are definitely interesting. His turnover numbers are ridiculously good for a big man. Being number 7 on the rebounds per minute list is a little concerning. He seems like a really good offensive rebounder against smaller competition. Maybe he has poor positioning on the defensive end that is keeping him off the court. His lack of rebounds is something to keep an eye on during the next few games if anyone is bored.

Moemeka needs more minutes for his stats to be meaningful, but it's definitely good to see him doing well when he's on the floor. Maybe he's the guy that Edwards actually uses right(joke). It's hard to argue with anyone who says he deserves more minutes since he's had quite the impact in his short time on the court.

Lieberman drives me nuts and makes me miss Riley Grabau. Lieberman has more talent, but he's inferior as a basketball player because he doesn't play intelligently. His turnovers are simply not acceptable from a point guard. He played so well to finish last season. Maybe Edwards is waiting for him to do it again. As it stands, he doesn't deserve to see more court time than Kelley.

I'm just gonna throw in here that ol Jmac is shooting a blistering 21.7% from the floor/20% from the arc during conference play, also has the most fouls during conference games. Definitely justifies him playing essentially the most minutes on the team. :tickedoff:

Don't argue about minutes. Wyo2Dal thinks everything is just right - there are obvious reasons certain players like James, don't play more. He's only in the top three in every offensive and defensive stat. GD, it's super obvious. There's no way we'd be more competitive if our best player wasn't on the floor 12 minutes more per game. :roll:

James and Adams playing time are little misleading in this small sample size. James was in foul trouble in 2 of the games and Adams was less than 100% and only played a few minutes against Fresno when he came back.

Doesn't mean they shouldn't be getting more minutes, but when injuries/foul trouble aren't an issue James is playing 25-28 mpg and Adams is getting 20 mpg. I would probably play James 30-32 mpg, but nobody asked me.
