Coaching Changes

Manny Mitsakas our former OC was fired today from Bethany college. They sure didn't give him much time. While obviously not head coach material he is an offensive genius imo. Bring him back!

Why? Bohls O was quite successful. It took some time to get things going. But this years team showed what this O can do. Our D is what needs work. Our O has a set foundation after year one. And we have the pieces in place to be even more successful next year.
Our D, I think will fair better next year also. Injuries screwed on both sides of the ball at different times this year, mainly on the D side, but the benefit to that is several young players got quality experience. They can only get better.

Ah there's 2 reasons bohl was ran out of Nebraska. 1 was 70 points given up to CU. The other was a young woman. So bohl isn't pissed at Nebraska he loves Nebraska & would love to be there. Right now he has zero shot at the job....However if he would've stayed at NDSU won 4 straight titles and another big 12 game (ndsu beat iowa state) then he'd have a shot at Nebraska job. But it's dead for now he needs to build a winner at wyoming

I'm not at all against Bohl's offense. I'm a firm believer any offense works if executed and recruited for correctly. Just a shameless plug for the Triple Shoot Offense I so much enjoyed the one season we had it.

Florida - Jim McElwain

Why: AD Foley already said Rich Rod & Mullen are OUT. Mullen and Foley don't have a great relationship. Mullen is very cocky. McElwain already a proven OC in SEC, has HC experience, success at CSU.

Michigan - Dan Mullen

Why: UM moving outside of UM alum's for first time. Mullen turned around perennial bottom feeder MSU. Has made comments regarding leaving to prior assistant's in last year or so.

They are in a state of DENIAL over on Sheepnation. Holy cow. They actually think that Florida would fly their AD to Fort Collins to get turned down on the tarmac? They actually think that their coach would meet with the AD several times and have this be a "howdy, how ya' doin', Jim?" sort of encounter?

Lol.. I would be ecstatic if he came back to Laramie. But that staff will probably stay in FoCo. Mac won't bring very many to Fla.

Michigan- Thinking their AD screws this up and gets someone from left field. No clue. Originally thought Mullen, thinking thats still a possibility, or will try to bring in Harbaugh. Definitely have feeling of Schiano.

Colorado State- Man.. Thoughts? I think their OC will take the reins for bowl game.. But this will have to be an important hire.

UNLV- Obv Sanchez from Gorman + hearing Orgeron and Nutt in the mix. The AD there is a lunatic, assuming she turns down the $30M offer with Sanchez and goes with a older coach. Gut tells me Nutt gets it.

Tulsa- Who cares.

I think that Bronco Mendenhall at BYU would at least be marginally interested at coaching at the school he played at. I would love to see BYU scatter to find a coach and it would serve their fan base right as they want him gone. I know I would kill for his record as a Uw fan.

I hope CSU gets a good coach. I'm of the opinion that a rising tide lifts all ships in the conference.
 
Crazy move by UNLV, but that must mean the money is coming in. It isn't a bad move. If they can get budgets in order and some facilities in place over the next 4 years, that will be more beneficial than a lot of things.

Probably not a great hire for immediate success, but he really can't do any worse than his predecessors.

I have no reason whatsoever to base this on. I have no idea who this potential coach is or who the potential donors are, so this next statement is 100% irrational. Still, for some reason, I can't help myself from predicting a drastic rise of UNLV football followed by NCAA sanctions :lol:
