Yes, but that still leaves us on the hook for about $8500 in tuition and $15k in room and board. That's $23.5k per year.Won’t your daughter get the “parent attended UW” discount? My youngest is now a senior at UW. I have been paying 150% of instate tuition.
Man you would have way more exciting football games to attend if she stays in SEC/B12 countryYes, but that still leaves us on the hook for about $8500 in tuition and $15k in room and board. That's $23.5k per year.
Baylor offered her a 100% tuition scholarship with an additional 2-3 individual scholarships to put towards room and board. Our yearly out-of-pockets costs to go there would be closer to $8-9k.
University of Arkansas offered her a 90% tuition scholarship with a an additional health professions scholarship to use towards the remaining tuition and room and board. Annual out-of-pocket cost there would be around $12k.
The last school we've heard back from so far is LSU. They offered a scholarship that covered about 80% of tuition leaving us with around $15k in annual costs.
As you can see, same student with the same grades and SAT score, and UW is going to cost us the most even with a parent as an alumni.
Yeah, it's kind of a bummer though. She really liked UW when we visited.Man you would have way more exciting football games to attend if she stays in SEC/B12 country
The other schools seem to me to be the better choices given costs (particularly the generous Baylor package).Yes, but that still leaves us on the hook for about $8500 in tuition and $15k in room and board. That's $23.5k per year.

The defensive stats are probably pretty miserable as well. The Cowboys’ offense was the centerpiece of Sawvel’s media availability Monday, and for good reason.
Out of 138 Football Bowl Subdivision teams, UW ranks:
135th in scoring offense (14.2 points per game)
131st in total offense (293.2 yards)
Tied for 130th in turnover margin (minus-6)
132nd in passing offense (143 yards)
Tied for 121st in red-zone offense (75%)
Tied for 120th in first downs gained (81)
134th in team passing efficiency (107.7)
110th in third-down conversions (33.9%)
84th in total defense. The defensive stats are probably pretty miserable as well.
I work at a golf course (it’s a perfect retirement job) if you shoot in the mid 80’s, you don’t suck my friend. In fact, you would be considered decentI love your analogy about missed golf shots and Sawful’s excuses btw.
Interesting information. What is your source? Scholarships offered and amounts are not usually public information. Maybe things have changed since my days in Student Financial Aid, but it's still private information.Yes, but that still leaves us on the hook for about $8500 in tuition and $15k in room and board. President Reeves would have never tolerated the ineptitude of Burman and Sawful in the military. Of course this a different type scenario, but it malkes me wonder.Probably money. During the BoT meeting I will say President Reeves was the only one I saw not on his computer or phone when speakers were talking. He has only been on the job 3 months and is trying to drive up enrollment so UW does have money.
I know everyone wants President Reeves to make a move but Barlow will more than likely be the next Governor. You should email him and ask his vision is as four trustees terms are up in 2027.
These are just the schools that my daughter had applied to and heard back from already.Interesting information. What is your source?
