Club Baseball Headed to District Championship

The Pokes swept Metro State this weekend to clinch 1st place in the North Division of District 8.

May 5th and 6th the Cowboys will play a three game series with Western State College of Colorado in Fort Collins to determine who goes to the national tournament in Columbus, Georgia.

Maybe eventually but not in the near future. If a D1 men's sport is added in the near future it will probably be hockey.

Nice! Go Pokes!

UW Baseball should have taken advantage of all the folks in town for the spring football game last weekend...and the College of Business banquet...could have had an extra 50+ in the stands at minimum, just by doing some simple free marketing.

That's a good thought, wish we would have thought of that ahead of time, we've been getting pretty solid crowds, it would have been nice to have Cowboy completely full though.

Then wouldn't they have to add a women's sport to make up for it? That doubles the cost.

Yes adding a women's sport as well would be a challenge to both sports, but the big argument coming from most people is that for baseball the weather just isn't good enough. Which I think is a dumb argument, if you play the early season games away from home like other cold weather states then it's not a problem. The state and university seem to think we need a dome if they ever add baseball and so they don't want to pay for that. But I don't think a dome is necessary if you just play all the early season games on the road.
