Utah, tcu, byu, bsu, csu, sdsu, fsu, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas, ou, Cincinnati, etc.

Most schools that try to get in a better conference make it happen

I wonder how

Just sit on the bench and wait for the girl to come to you

Faint heart never fuggs a fair maiden

To do what? Now that Utah State has accepted an invitation, the MWC cannot be dissolved without the approval of 6 of the 7 members.

The whole thing is idiotic at this point and the MWC and PAC2 should just do a reverse merger.
This, but as this is the sensible thing to do, I somehow doubt it gets done.

You’re right. Let’s call up the Big12 and SEC and tell them we are available. See which one wants us. Great plan.

Nobody wants wyo cuz we were probably the dumb asses screaming HOLD!

Shoulda made a partnership to jump to pac
The PAC is not an option because of 15 years of failure not because we didn't pick up the phone. There is no honor in any of this. Nobody forms alliances for hell's sake. This isn't a reality TV show.

Ya I do think big 12 would be a better option and not out of the realm of possibility

But not with current leadership and the inept thinking that some subscribe to

You are running a clinic on how to show that you have absolutely no clue how college athletics works. Bravo, sir.

I think it’s inevitable at this point that UNLV is headed to the PAC, leaving AF to the AAC with the other academies.

That leaves UW, Hawaii, SJSU, NM and Nevada. Does Nevada get the call to follow UNLV? Can the remaining 4/5 schools stick together to collect the exit and collusion fees? Who do you rebuild with, if so? UTEP, NMSU? FCS schools?

I think there would be a real possibility that NM goes CUSA, Nevada links up with UNLV to the PAC, and we’re left with Wyoming, Hawaii, SJSU.

The PAC will do everything in its power to eliminate the MW and keep that pile of cash.

What an absolutely depressing day, from the high of thinking the 8 would stick together to rebuild the MW to real possibility of Wyoming without a home, nowhere to go, and none of the money Burman and Co were banking on.

We can suffer 1 year and get the cash just as the pac 2 did. We might have to play each other 5 times but for 200-220 mill, you do it and see what your options are.

I'm still holding out hope that we keep HI, AF, UNM, WYO, SJSU, NV + 2 additions announced today. Really, for this group, utep and nmsu would be the best option.

Ugly but it is what it is.

Air Force and New Mexico signed the MOU, UNLV did not. Based on what we know of the PAC’s lowball offer to only pay $2.5 million of Memphis, Tulane and USF’s exit fees, they don’t have enough money to offer another MWC school beyond UNLV. Remember, because of escalators in the scheduling agreement, PAC owes $12 million for taking Utah State (plus the roughly $20 million USU will owe) and will owe $15 million for UNLV (plus the roughly $20 million UNLV will owe). That’s way too much money to leave on the table.

That’s $120 million in exit fees and $71 million in scheduling agreement penalties. We can do a lot with $191 million divided mostly amongst 6 schools.

I see this:
Air Force
Wyoming
New Mexico
Nevada
SJSU
Hawaii
UTEP
NMSU (or FCS)

That plus even sac state if we wanted 9 is probably still better than other conference options. Especially with almost 200 mill in the bank.

The other thing I wonder about is a few bball only options like gcu. If some of those wcc schools are worried about the Zags, could they be options especially in a semi-regional conference?
