Cheyenne Warriors

Agreed. I just wish the event center was taller. It was even different from Cavs games by a bunch. I hope that kid that got stretchered off is ok
And holy hell did the Warrior girls come straight from the den? Jesus.
I will for sure attend more games this season. I need one of those footballs :thumb:

I was pretty worried about that dude. He took a hell of a hit against that wall. 4 or 5 guys crushing you against the wall is bound to hurt. I hope he is ok too.

How the hell did that guy catch the ball for Wolf Pack, do a back flip over the wall, and still stand up afterwards?

I got used to the 3 offensive players in motion - but damn, that has to be tough to time to not get a false start. I didn't quite understand some of the illegal defensive formation calls. It also seemed like the refs liked to lay the flags on the losing team more than the winning team.

Much faster paced game - alot more big hits. We need an IFL team in Laramie.

I'll definetely attend a few more games this year.

I'm pretty sure the catch over the wall bounced. But he still gets the points in my book for not breaking his neck

What's the IFL about? I've been thinking about going. I've read the owner of the Warriors died - but apparantly they are going to play this season now?

The owner is very much alive. The previous GM died last year.

In response to the athlete that was taken off on a stretcher, it was more of a precaution than necessity. The player had movement and feeling in all his limbs but had felt a pop and some pain in his back so that's why the ambulance was called.

Quick correction: The majority owner died December 28th, which is why we're playing in the DIFL this season instead of the IFL.

Also of note: westWYOpoke is the stadium DJ :thumb:

I'd never been to an IFL game until tonight. That was fun. However, do most games have that many penalties??? Wow..

It makes you realize how much spreading out the field in American Football keeps collisions from happening. That was some brutal play at times!

Heck of a job announcing WYO1016! Nice kicking Cornpoke!
There usually aren't nearly that many penalties. The team came out a little too fired up, and they got smacked by the refs for it.

You could tell that the Wolfpack were a first year indoor football team. They still haven't grasped the concept of keeping your head up when you're near the wall. The catch their WR made when he fell over the wall was awesome, though!

Thanks for the kudos! We'll make sure it's an even better fan experience next game :thumb:

I think I have my parents convinced to come to the game on the 13th as long as we aren't balls deep in farming.
2 things that did annoy me though. The fact that I had to go down town to get tickets and the HORRIBLE cRap music before the game. Seriously does no one even know how to make a goddamn rhyme anymore? Talking gibberish over bass does not make you a rapper

I hear ya on the rap. I'm not a huge fan myself, if I had my way I'd be playing mostly Metallica, acdc, pantera, etc. but the players and owners are very adamant on a heavy dose of rap/hip-hop. And he who pays gets to call the shots (or music).

I think we can call the first game a success despite the slow start in the first half. Although I made the first tackle and scored the first points of the season! Of course none of that is mentioned in the game article.... kickers never get any credit lol

Thanks for coming out Aaron. Between WYO1016 announcing and WestWyoPoke DJ'ing I think we put on a pretty good show. I like that we have a bye week now even after week 1. We are a little banged up, including me and my 31 year old body. I forgot how much kicking is involved with indoor football. My leg is still sore.

You have a chore with how damn low the ceiling is.
Yes it is certainly the most challenging arena I have ever played in. As a Kicker you rarely worry about what is above you when kicking. So I have this small window of getting the ball high enough it doesn't get blocked and still low enough it doesn't hit the ceiling.

Quick note on the Warriors: I host a webcast every Thursday at 7:00 pm mountain time where we interview players and coaches. Tonight we'll have defensive back Aaron Grimes and former Wyoming wide receiver Mazi Ogbonna on, as well as head coach Damon Ware. You can tune in by clicking the link below:
