So your saying Chandler contacted Dino?

Nah, as far as I understand, Dino talks to a lot of players fairly regularly. It's possible Chandler said something about his plans he hadn't planned to "release" yet. These are just kids, after all, not people trained to deal with media.

Dino is so desperate to be relevant I can see this happening.

It's also completely possible it was a misunderstanding, to be fair. Dino might've thought it was fair game because Chandler brought it up, while Chandler might not have realized Dino would essentially announce it.

It's all speculation, regardless. What's obvious is that somebody screwed up one way or other because of how it all came out.
According to Dino, when he spoke directly with Chandler he asked if he could divulge the information and Chandler had no problem with it.

Not at any of you will believe this....

If you believe that then, I have some ocean front property over by Jackson Hole I'd LOVE to sell to ya.
You're right. Dino could 100% be blowing smoke up all of our asses. OR... Just as likely.... the football program actually respects Dino and have no problem continuing to talk with him. IF he was lying and making shit up or over embellishing or releasing information in confidence just for his own benefit Bohl would not put up with it. His access would be revoked in a snap.

On this same topic...I believe we have 7 QB's on the recruiting radar (2 from TX, 3 from CA, 1 from MN, and 1 from OK).

Hope we get that Cowboy Tough one, that is able to step in next season if need be.

Chandler confirmed it after he got the info from "an anonymous email" which was confirmed by "an impeccable source" that night. Then he said he was also able to get Chandler to confirm it, which makes believe Dino approached him about it, not the other way around.

Got tired of the back and forth about this. I reached out to Dino about the Chandler Garrett situation. Here is his response:

"Yes, we received the email, yes, we then sought to confirm it's legitimacy. Yes, we did reach out to the player himself to fully vet the information we received and it was confirmed by the player himself. Yes, we asked the player if this was information that we could release, he responded by telling us he had no problem with the info being released. We also asked for a statement from him, which he provided, which was then posted on the website story. This was never about me, or anyone at Pokes Radio overhearing a conversation or seeking to invade someone's private thoughts. Everything we did in reporting and in breaking the story was done with 100% integrity across the board. Did the information turn out to be true as evidenced by others who went on to report the story after we broke the news? I think you know the answer to that. You have my permission to copy and paste this - or to simply tell the story in your own words. Thank you."

Sounds like good quality sports reporting to me. You do have to ask yourself WTF was Chandler Garrett thinking by doing this the week before the most important game played in 25 years?

Jones (nickname: Longhorns), just east-northeast of OKC about maybe 15-20 minutes. Good Class 3A football program that went 10-0 and 6-0 in District play AND is in the State 3A Quarterfinals hosting the Berryhill Chieftains on Friday. Never won a state title in football. Might this year.

So, chandler is transferring after the season but dino thought it was a good time put it out there? Chandler has not quit yet? If that's the case, Dino should have sat on it. If chandler had quit, by all means.

Agreed. Dino pretends to be a Wyoming fan, but his self interest will always come before the good of the team.

He intentionally dropped divisive, distracting, information that could potentially hurt the Cowboys, the week before they play to clinch a division title.

He's a selfish drama queen.

This. I don't understand how some can't see that.

I read the story on Dino's page. He reported that Chandler had left the team, Not that he was planning on transferring

I guess sitting three years and possibly starting for two wasn't his cup of tea?

Josh getting a medical makes chandler wait another year.

I always thought the ideal spacing is for a new junior QB to come onstage after his predecessor graduated. Chandler was spaced exactly perfectly behind Allen. It is a little worrisome to have a sophomore start at quarterback, even if he does redshirt.

This strikes me as a little selfish because two years starting would be ideal. (In fact, Josh Allen would have only started for two years if he had not gotten injured last year.)
