"What It All Means: Wyoming doesn’t have an offense and isn’t doing anything when Austyn Carta-Samuels isn’t producing, but that’s been the case all year long. The team is 6-6 and has a great shot at going to a bowl, and while this might not be a pretty team and it’ll likely get drilled by anyone it has to deal with in the 13th game, this was a successful first season under Dave Christensen. To win two road games in the final three games to get to this point is a major step forward."

Again we get zero respect. I know the last game wasn't pretty, but I'm pretty sure we earned everything we got this season. To hell with the national media, we will destroy whoever gets in our way in the last game!

LOL I don't see Fresno or Nevada destroying us. That's who we are playing, barring some weird scenario where we play Idaho. As long as we aren't playing Idaho in Boise we should be favored against them.

As I said earlier, I like those match-ups for our team. They are both strong running teams (Nevada in particular) and don't have the passing game like a BYU to really hurt us. We have given up yards on the ground this year, but it hasn't hurt as nearly as much as the yards we've given up through the air.

Also for what its worth CSU beat Nevada (2nd place WAC) very handily. Of course that was the beginning of the season and a lot has changed since then, so you can't take too much from that.

But I think we match-up well with any one of those WAC teams. It should make for a good game.

EDIT: Also Wyoming may not have that great of an offense yet.....but WAC teams sure as hell have NO DEFENSE whatsoever. Nothing like the level of defense played in the MWC.

Its obvious we struggle on offense, especially at giving ACS time to throw the ball. However, we are going to have 3 weeks to game plan, and give the offensive line that much more time to improve (even if its only a tiny bit - an extra half second for ACS would be huge), plus we should be healthy and well rested. I look for the defensive to really put on a show and stand up and stone any opponent we face.

I have a feeling there are plenty of plays in the book that we haven't seen so far that the team will have time to practice and use now. One of the reason our offense has stalled this season against better defenses is that it has been very fundamental and with few if any wrinkles. It made perfect sense to do that and get the players comfortable with the new system, though, especially with so many young kids playing. Three weeks should be more than enough time to add two or three new plays that our opponent won't have video of - maybe we'll even start adding a few option plays to get Alexander or Stewart more involved than the straight-forward run up the middle plays.

I'm really hoping we'll see some new things, because I know DC has a LOT of fun plays in his book. I watched a lot of Mizzou games the last few years, and their offense was successful because they always kept the defenses guessing. That's what I want to see from our offense in the next few years. With the good turnover margin we're getting, it means that our defense will improve vastly as our drives eat up a lot of clock and they won't be exhausted come half time.

I seriously doubt Wyoming would be favored against anybody. Wyoming has yet to defeat a team with a winning record......Still, I really like our chances against either of these teams. Throw out CU which was a total abberation and Wyoming has moved the ball well against average defenses. Wyoming cannot move the ball at all against strong defenses but we don't have to worry about that against Nevada or Fresno.

....about WYO being favored against Nevada or Fresno??

That would be funny.

Seriously

Ummm I didn't say that. I said I thought we would be possibly favored against Idaho as long as it wasn't in the H-Bowl. I didn't state it very clearly though sorry.

In the NM Bowl I would make Nevada a 7-8 point favorite over UW and Fresno about a 5 point favorite.

In the NM Bowl against Idaho (highly unlikely) I think it would probably be a pick-em.
