Don't forget that there are still other games going on that day/night. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are playing that day, among other games.
Oh and the SEC Championship game is that day. Do we really want to go head to head with the SEC right there?
I don't know if there are other championship games that day, I don't have the time to look it up, but I think there are.

This is from Brian Murphy's twitter (Boise Beat writer):

Best I can find for champ game kickoffs: SEC 2pm MT; Pac-12 6 pm MT; Big Ten 6:17pm MT; Mountain West 8pm MT; ACC TBD.

what....nobody watches that game anyway

Right no one cares about the SEC... Not like winning that game puts you in National Championship game. Haha.

S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!

Am I the only person who will randomly let out a "Roll Tide!" to people in social situations?

This is fantastic news! To follow the SEC Championship game means we get a shot at a pre-built big national audience. Great news!

This is terrific exposure in a great time slot. Everyone will be home or at the bars and it will be on the TV. Following the SEC won't hurt either. The MW has come miles with this new TV deal!

Bite your tongue. Spend 5 minutes with an Alabama fan and you will never want to utter those words again.

For the first time in my life I actually met an Alabama fan who actually attended the school. I didn't know they existed. I thought they were like Oregon fans, being a "die-hard" without actually going to school at UO or even stepping foot in Eugene once.

Unless the SEC title game goes to 25 overtimes, I doubt the MWC game will directly follow the SEC title game, since their start times are 6 hours apart. So any residual rollover on fans watching one then the next is unlikely to occur. The best the MWC can hope for is a bunch of promos during the SEC title game, and hope to rope some extra fans in that way.

Might want to check your math there MrTitleist ;)
