I never once attacked you. Lets recap so you may better understand, shall we?
"The CBI game is way more for coaches developing young players and touting that the team went to the "post season" than it is for the fan."
-Thats a dig on Wyo and Shyatt.
"Do they even print in the papers (other than hometown) whichever team wins the CBI?"
- Dig on the tourney, or possibly a legit question... 'm leaning more to dig.
"I cannot remember the team winning the CBI as get any type of props ... so this really is like kissing your sister."
- Another dig on the tourney. which has had several articles on espn over the years.
"I certainly hope the Pokes win, but come on, CBI for the second year in a row..."
- You go from negativity of the CBI and being in it to hoping we win. Then you get facts wrong, this is three years in the CBI, not two.
"The apologists will constantly point to Nance and his injury...but where's the depth after 2 1/2 years."
-An apparent dig on most on here, including myself. And then bringing up the complaint of depth yet again.
"Good teams that go to the NCAA or NIT have depth, CBI teams, well... they kiss their sister and say, see we went to the post season."
-Another dig on a legit tourney with legit teams. Including "your Cowboys"
"... the post season tourney no one has heard of unless they are diehard basketball fans."
- You just pointed out that your not a diehard fan, sense you knew nothing of the tourney.
Did I express that you bring in negativity to a thread that should be positive? Yup. That's not a dig or attack. That's pointing out the obvious. Then all I did was inform you of the legitimacy of this tourney., it's past, who has won it and other legit programs that have "kissed their sister" to continue to play and build up to playing in the NIT and NCAA tourney.
So, lets continue the recap, shall we?
"You really think that Wyo has a snowball in hell's chance of winning the CBI?"
- Really? Do you actually read what is written? I don't recall saying anything remotely close to Wyo winning the tourney. Where this popped into your head, I haven't the slightest.
"You may call my two cents negative, I call it realistic, some have difficulty dealing with reality, you just appear to be one of them."
- Personal dig on me, or attack, however you'd like to put it.
You then bring up that it's not the players, but rather depth, but then begin to contradict yourself and complain about Grabau and Cooke...Need I say more?
Why don't I,
"Frankly speaking, I follow basketball fairly closely as I coached many years ago HS ball in Colorado, which shows how really little you know."
- Wow! Earlier you are not a diehard since you no nothing of the CBI, now you follow basketball fairly closely. Then your personal credentials... OHHH! Thats why I know nothing? I had no feaking clue that I was in the presents of the one on this thread that know's it all, and because he does, I don't know squat. By the way, that was another attack on me.
"Grabau has disappeared again on the offensive end of the court when we have needed him most late in the season, or are you going to ignore this?"
- I explained it may be due to his injury, how is that ignoring this? And honestly for being such a knowledgeable coach you think you would have considered this.In running a motion O your PG doesn't always have to shoot. He is to look for the open Nance down low, the open Cooke down low or the back cutting Adams and Sobey on the baselines. He finds the open man so they can have a better opportunity to score. When he's open he shoots, when he's off he doesnt shoot much. Most coaches expect that in a PG.
You wanna talk accuracy: and stats, that I must be afraid of:
From the Nevada game to the UNLV game (19games)
Overall: FG/ 3pt/ Ft
49-129/ 36-101/ 51-56 That's .379/ .356/ .910
Now if you take his most inconsistent games out (three games. BSU, SJSU and AF you take away 2-18/ 1-15/ 2-2
Those three games I believe he couldve played a little better. but the sixteen other games he was running .420 from FG and 3 pt.
If you look at the games where he didn't score much, you will find that his assists went up and also the slashers (Sobey, Adams scored significantly more. So he does what a PG is supposed to do.
Let's continue:
"Sobey and Granberry stepping up."
Sobey yes. Granberry, inconsistent, yet he steps up in your eyes. Since Nance went down, Granberry has had two good games, AF 14 pts, and UNLV 18 points, all others we 3-5 points.
"But w/out any type of interior game this team is not going anywhere, negative or not that is truth and you sticking your head in the sand isn't going to make that suddenly disappear."
- Again, wow! I don't ever remember me writing anything about our lack of depth, or lack of interior players. Thanks for the attack of the figment of your imagination argument.
"Adams is the only play that is coming back next season (aside from Nance) that can bee counted on for consistency... Or are you going to ignore this as well too?"
And yet another dig, another imaginary argument and your wrong. Grabau went from avging 5.8 ppg his first year to 10.4 this year. Adams 12.9 Cooke 6.1 although since Nance has been out is avging 9.1ppg. and whatever Nance brings back, And I'm sure most all of them will up their numbers even more next year.
I have plenty more to come my friend, But alas, I must go to work. enjoy, enlighten yourself, and figur out where you were actually coming from with some of these statements.

This was at the top of this post. "I never once attacked you."
This was at the top of a couple of your prior posts to me. "And you know, typical potato has to come and give his two negative cents, even after pretty much everyone on here has already said exactly what you decided to rant. With exception of one thing. I know you probably don't follow basketball all that well, and that's okay, so please don't act like the expert that you are not."
This is an attack by anyone's standards except someone that can't tell the truth like you. Either you are a moron for forgetting what you just wrote or a liar, which is it? You attacked me for how negative I was and how I shouldn't think that I am the expert that I am not. I know that you are not a person of enough character to admit when they are wrong, so you can just keep on telling lies. I never said anything to you until AFTER you attacked me, what part of this reality do you have problems with? I probably shouldn't ask you that because it appears that you have problems with reality all of the time. I was talking about the team not you, how about rereading the posts above and look at the chronological order and you might just learn that you jumped on my post first. You aren't always positive moron and should I come on and attack you for being negative when you are? Or do you justify it whenever you are negative and others can't be negative if you don't agree with them? Do you know what a hypocrite is? If you have any doubt, look in the mirror and you will see one.

Potato, you amaze me.
Well, okay, I'm sorry about the negative two cents comment. It was a terrible bashing that I bestowed upon you. But if you want to call me on anything else, I did re read the posts , hence why I busted out several of your own confusing quotes. And explained each one in detail. But I guess I was wrong for pointing those out as well. Now, that you apparently feel your knowlege is well above mine in basketball, let me share who I am. I'm a current HS football/ basketball coach. I've played both sports since I was 5. I've played both sports all through jr high, HS, and college. And I was a PG on a team that ran an offense really similar to what WYO does now, which is why I don't get to concerned about Grabau's "inconsistencies". Since graduating, ive coached both sports. Please, dont act like you know so much, and cast judgment down on me, when you don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Your definitely fun to debate Potato, but you need to learn to cool your jets a little and make sense. I'm done. It's game day in this little pathetic "kiss your sister" tourney they call the CBI. Good day
Go Pokes!

We didn't know it when he joined, but he is an expert in everything and if you have an opinion that differs from him, you are in the wrong...and you are bound to have these long conversations where he questions everything from you being a fan all the way to your manhood. It's quite funny, actually.
kansasCowboy said:Amazing, you can never just stop.
Did you ever say that you were an expert? Overall, probably not. Compared to me? Absolutely:
"Frankly speaking, I follow basketball fairly closely as I coached many years ago HS ball in Colorado which shows how really little you know." That's what you wrote...This was AFTER you called me out about how little I knew. Did I say in that I knew more than you? NO, But I was saying that I wasn't as unknowledgble as you were stating. Do you have difficulty in comprehending?
Did you ever say I was ignorant? Many times! All your "Head in the sand" comments, the "Are you going to ignore this" comments, and the "Reality" comments. Yes, you stressed many many times that I was ignorant, let's not forget the "Afraid of certain stats" comments as well. I could go on. Did I use the word ignorant? NO. Are you trying to read something into this? Absolutely. Just so you will understand I will type very slowly and you can take that comment any way that you want. I was talking about how you refused to look at certain stats when you were defending a statement that was obviously not correct.
Now, I'm sorry that you misunderstood. I in no way agreed with your original point about Grabau's inconsistencies. That is why is placed inconsistency in quotations. And apparently you never fully read my post with all your quotes, because I explain in great detail how I disagree with your "inconsistent" argument. I even explained it some more in my last post, that it is not an inconsistency when Grabau isn't scoring, or even trying to score. No, rather, that would be an intangible of the PG position, where your guard decides to get other people the ball rather than throw up shots. Not hard to understand. Not hard to understand if you make even a minimal effort to. I made the statement that we needed more consistent scoring from the PG position, and I don't think even Shyatt would disagree with that when you are getting 0 points from your floor leader.
Again, I never "ripped" you, if you consider the negative two cents comment a rip then you live a coddled life. Got to be honest, you can read through this dialogue and you "ripped" me over and over again.Yes, I ripped you. Unlike you I will admit it, but I was giving back exactly what you started giving to me, and now you want to say that you weren't. I guess some people have real difficulty looking at themselves and being honest about their own actions, you appear to be a person that falls into this category.
I also never said anything remotely close to a "poor me" comment. And I'm not about to.
And now you want to mock my credentials? That's pretty sad. Like I've stated on the football board, I know my credentials, I've lived and experienced and learned many things both playing and coaching both sports. I trust my knowledge of each game. I'm also a big, if not huge fan of the WYO Cowboys, and always get the latest intel on my favorite school.
Good day to you.
Sorry to the rest of you for hijacking this thread. I promise, no more. I've said everything I needed to say.
Go Pokes!!!
And Wyo2dal, thanks for the link to beable to watch the game. Appreciate it.
