I agree, but with all do respect, 20 regular season wins is a good mark. Finally reaching 20 after some post season play is a different story IMO.

I agree, but with all do respect, 20 regular season wins is a good mark. Finally reaching 20 after some post season play is a different story IMO.

I don't disagree with that, but in X years down the road it would be nice to say "Coach Shyatt has X+3 straight years of 20 wins" instead of two 20 win seasons then an 18 or 19 win season then X 20 win seasons".
Could help with respect, recruiting, or for just general sports talk.

It doesn't work that way though. We can't keep our basketball/olympics in the MWC while playing Football in another conference. The MWC was very clear they had no interest in the basketball/olympic only sports from BYU, BSU, and SDSU, I assure you they have no interest in doing so for Wyoming. There are no equivalent conferences that would be interested in Wyoming without football. Our options would be Big Sky for everything, or possibly the WAC which is almost worse than the Big Sky in hoops. Only other option would be the MVFC/Summit combo. Not a bad league, but a significant step down from the MWC in both competition and publicity.

I can't stress enough that there is no positive outcome associated with dropping a level. If Wyoming ever drops a level it won't be our choice, it will be because we got kicked out/left behind/etc. and had no other choice.

It doesn't work that way though. We can't keep our basketball/olympics in the MWC while playing Football in another conference. Playing in the NCAA tournament every year is the mark of a good program, winning 20 games doesn't mean shit, especially when you cant win more than you lose in conference play.

20 wins does mean something.
NCAA Tourney every year is the sign of a REALLY good or great program.
Gonzaga makes the Big Dance every year...they are a great program, not just a good program, even though they don't seem to do much in the Tourney.

I still think the MWC should have invited Zaga to the MWC to make up for Hawaii for football only.

It would be a win-win for both the MWC and Zaga
