It is one of those kids who have been around a while and probably won't get to play much this year.

Josh Smith?

Doubt it's Josh. He's a buddy of mine and feels truly blessed to be on the team. He walked on and earned his scholarship and I doubt he will ever quit the team.
Maybe TJ Smith.

T.J. Has been gone for quite some time..... Meredith was a walk on that had earned a scholarship as well........and he quit. :twocents:

Wait...so is it Josh Smith JarHead?

What? Brett Smith is going to quit?     That would send a wave through this state wouldn't it?

I though I read somewhere that Wyoming and Carroll college were the only two colleges that offered Brett......is that true?

I never said that...I was just implying that just because he was a walk-on and earned a scholarship it wouldn't preclude him from quitting. I was drawing a comparison to Meredith.

No

According to ESPN's Recruiting Football Nation he was talked to by four schools but only offered by Wyoming. Schools that showed interest outside of Wyoming were: Eastern Wash. NM State, and San Jose State. Here is an excerpt from the article....."Smith is a prospect that grows on you the more you watch him. He may not have an elite physical trait, but he is heady, very productive and extremely efficient in a scheme that allows for him to use his athleticism to run and also attempt throws he is proficient...."

I am glad we got him!

He was offered by New Mexico State, Wyoming, San Jose State, and someone else. He actually committed to San Jose State before decommitting and signing with Wyoming.

One thing you'll notice is not every recruiting service is completely accurate.

Thanks, didn't realize there was that much of a difference in the recruiting sites. Nevertheless I am glad we snagged him out of the San Jose Grips! LOL
