Cantilevered Roof at the War

I know that we have discussed the history of putting a dome over the War. Does anyone know if they ever discussed putting a cantilevered roof over the seating areas to provide cover and amplify sound? Maybe (Probably) it isn't necessary (as we fancy ourselves rugged and tough) and might not be feasible considering the wind and snow loads that might be involved, but I was just curious.

They are using a hydronic (water based) heating system to manage snow accumulation. Wyoming would probably have to do the same.
Buffalo has just short of double the snow load values that Laramie has...For reference:

Laramie - 30 psf
Buffalo - 50 psf
Steamboat - 85 psf
Tahoe - 150 psf

Would be cheaper than building in Buffalo to resist the snow load...Depending on the geometry you could probably design it to carry it and not worry about heating it...Maybe?

Like buffalo’s new stadium
Correct. It would actually be more similar to Husky Stadium in Washington. Tom Osborne's Nebraska juggernaut teams played there and he said it was the loudest stadium he had ever coached in - noting that he found it difficult to concentrate most of the game. Now we don't have the other UW's capacity, but I would have to guess that a roof system could create issues for our opponents and momentum for us. Beyond that, the practical effect would offer shade from the sun and protection from rain and snow, without having to dome the War.
