This video is freaking awesome! Guy obviously loves to kick. CornPoke, thoughts on technique?

I seem to remember another kicker a little over a year ago that had a really snazzy youtube vid

turned out he couldn't make a kickoff into the endzone

(FTR i realize that sullivan is a good kicker)

I would bet this guy plays or played rugby. His punting form is much closer to rugby than it is to that of football. His place-kicking is more football-like though. However, from the limited glimpses of his face he looks a little old to be trying to recruit for college ball. Still a pretty sweat video, I bet the last scene took more than a few tries.

I enjoyed watching that. I have kicked thousands of footballs in my life but I never considered doing trick shots like that, as it would not promote good technique. His style is very raw soccer style... but dude has some serious skill!!

For instance take a look at where my hips and body are in this picture. My weight is more balanced and my hips are square to the target. Many soccer players converting to football kicking they still have a tendency to "sidewind" at the ball, which causes the ball to do funny things.

Here below is the reason I haven't been posting much.. I'm busy playing semi-pro on the east coast. Not to worry! I'll be back in time for kicker tryouts for the Cheyenne warriors by January.

did you hear the the cavalry coach is gone

i still can't believe he shafted you like that

I'm on the game day staff for the Warriors. The owner is a big fan of getting players that the Ice and Cavalry have blown off, since we're in the same league now. Says they play with a chip on their shoulder.

When it comes down to it I can't complain, I at least was given an opportunity to compete for the spot and that's all I can ask for. I felt I had a good tryout but there certainly was some favoritism going into the tryout and I was on the outside looking in. Making as a kicker is not always easy because teams carry only ONE kicker. Travis Atter is an excellent kicker and I hope he continues playing with the Calvary.

I hope I can get on with the Warriors and I think I can if all goes well. I'm in the best kicking shape of my life after training and playing all summer/fall here on the east coast.
