This was a few days ago, but I missed it.

Has anyone seen him play?

I always look at track and field times if they are readily available for football commits. I'm not getting warm fuzzies from Caleb's. But I'll trust Bohl and Co. that they know what they are doing when it comes to recruiting.

He's being recruited as a fullback... I'd be less worried about track times and more worried about bench press and squat numbers.

Makes sense that he projects as a fullback. I assumed a linebacker

This is the first time I ever heard of Thunder Basin High School. Guess I've been out of the loop too long...

Looks like its been around (named that) in Gillette for just two years. Has a VERY low ranking among Wyoming schools if you look on the Internet.

Huh? Gillette went to 2 high schools a few years ago. Most of the athletes went to the ‘new’ Thunder Basin high school leaving Gillette high school pretty bare for wrestling/football.

I really wish they could keep kids from "stacking the deck" and going to a certain school just for the purpose of sports.

I agree. THIS is why KW royally stinks at football and why NC does so damned well in the same sport!!!!! :tickedoff:

Just to be clear, Gillette only allowed juniors and seniors to choose between high schools when they opened Thunder Basin. All of those kids are gone now. They have attendance areas for both schools now. Campbell County is starting to build their program for football but wrestling will take some time. Thunder Basin will have an advantage for a while. Right now, the travel teams and more committed players are on that side of town. Thunder is not a stacked team, they are playing for the school they are supposed to.

When I was in school a group of basketball first guys grouped up to go to KW and NC beat them in basketball 4 years later anyways.. It's not always so simple. Natrona has a pretty good coach that might have something to do with it.. we as WYO fans should be thankful for him IMO
