I can't even begin to imagine how low the team morale is right now.

It wasn't just on WyoNation, Poke fans everywhere we're claiming this team was a legit MWC title contender. 9 wins guaranteed. Some dared to throw that vaunted "U" word around.

MWC title? I can barely find 4 wins!

I'm stunned that within one month, we went from praising this team to possibly looking for a new head coach. And yes, I think this is that bad.

Agree this was a season that I expected we would compete for the top of the conference. Now I don't think we win a game until Smith is back, and even then I think we only win against the very bottom teams. I predict 4 wins with one of them being Idaho if Smith is back next week and stays healthy the rest of the season. If Smith isn't back I predict we lose next week.
 
Smith is the highlight of the team. The recieving core is decent. Wick is a fighter but a true freshmen.

Now for the bad.
Our backup QB has a wet noodle for an arm (almost all of his passes were screens), our o-line doesn't know the meaning of "being physical", our defense can't stop anything even if they run right into their arms, and our play calling was about as vanilla as vanilla ice cream. Scratch that, it makes vanilla look new and exciting. :tickedoff:
 
Everyone saying smith is the only highlight is just the same as the team right now. You can't build an entire team around one guy and then act like its the end of the world when we loose him. Ya it sucks but good teams learn to play without him. We are not one of those teams.

What we have that's great:
Brett Smith.

Good:
Blair Burns
Recieiving core.
Wick.
Special teams.

So-so:
o-line (only if it is no more than 4 guys, and it's passing)

Bad:
O-line in opening holes for the ball carriers.
Coverage.

Fucking pathetic:
Run defense, especially to the outside.
Getting pressure into the back field.
3rd down conversions.
Overall play calling.

Play calling may be the worst overall. The option defense is also stellar.
 
Little bit of a side note: Kudos to those who got heckled on this board, GWG, Twitter, wherever for suggesting that Wyoming would pay for losing Pittser. IMO, his transferring cost Wyo two losses already.

Hate to say it, but I told you folks. When Tormey was at UH, the defense (specifically the secondary) dropped off big time despite returning key players. Nobody was sad when we left.

We lost defensive players that people don't realize how many of the turn overs they created and how many forced 3 and outs they created. Here just look at this and cry when you think about it.

Everyone that left the program last year was 75% of our defense what we have left is just getting gashed left and right because no one has stepped up to fill those shoes that left.

I don't know if anyone realizes how much Biezuns & Knapton did for our DL but this should absolutely tell you.
 
CSU lost 20 to 40 and the Fluffalos lost 69 to 14 so we could be in 8th but at least we haven't given up 70 points in a game yet. CU should be dead last after this week. I would be surprised if the coach isn't canned.
 
Glenn got exposed at Wyo......I suggest suitcases full of cash.... can't take this anymore
