MOVING ON!

Put it in writing.....what happens next Saturday?

-If you predict the game correctly, you get to make like you're cooler than the rest of us for a few hours.
-If your prediction turns out to be drastically off, you must think nice thoughts about BYU all of Sunday.

Feel free to change your pick based on Brett Smith's status this week, although there is a good chance we won't know about his status going into this game.

My pick...

Cal Poly - 21
Wyoming - 35

Kirkegaard starts and UW struggles in the 1st half, forcing CDC to play Smith in the 2nd half. Brett leads the team to a comfortable victory.

That sounds realistic. I don't have a prediction, but I want look forward as well. I would like to think we can beat Cal Poly without Brett Smith, but I'm not so sure we can. It would be nice if Brett could take a week off and heal up, then come back get in a groove against Idaho before we get into our October schedule.

In October we will probably be playing the 4 best teams remaining on our schedule. Nevada, Air Force, Fresno St, and Boise St so far look like the good teams in the MWC. November we get CSU, NM, and UNLV who still look bad, and SDSU which doesn't look as good as the October teams and we get them at home after 3 cupcakes. So, in my opinion October looks like a big month for this team and we will find out what kind of team we have by the end of October. As frustrating as it was to lose yesterday, I still think the jury is out on the 2012 UW Cowboys and we still have a chance to have a nice season (assuming Brett Smith makes a full recovery and stays healthy). Cal Poly and Idaho actually come at a good time for us, and I hope we can get things right.

Texas killed New Mexico so maybe Texas really is as good as 15th, and Arizona beat Oklahoma State by 21 so maybe Toledo is pretty good by taking Arizona to OT. We lost to a couple teams that could potentially go on to win the rest of their games.

And, I love that the Aggies beat the Utes! and ULM over Arkansas!

Just win. One point. A thousand. I don't care. Just win.
This. Screw guessing the score. I just hope that the team and coaches pull their heads out of their asses and start playing inspired football.

Seems like Kirkegaard getting those snaps in spring might pay off. They'll need it.

Cal Poly will run over, under, and around the Pokes. I doubt that they will have too much trouble advancing the football. But with Smith out, the Pokes better be able to run too. With Smith out the game looks close.
Pokes should score between 20 and 30. But the same for Cal Poly. Home field advantage and Pokes in a closer game than it should be.

Coach Christensen said we now have depth at all positions and that is good for being able to run
fresh players in throughout the game.

Cal Poly 45
Pokes 34

I hate it when we play so poorly that I start rooting for the other team.

I hate fans sometimes. It's people like this that make me sick. The pokes have played two very quality opponents so far. Toledo nearly beat Arizona and Arizona just whooped up on ranked Oklahoma State. We should have won against Toledo but we didn't quite make it happen.

So now people are predicting that we lose by two scores to an FCS school when we have not lost at home to an FCS school in our schools history? Get a spine, starting off 0-2 isn't the worst thing that can happen when they are two of the better teams on our schedule. We'll rebound the next two games and go into conference play at 2-2.

**Cringe** ^^^ Yikes.

Might be time to come back and join the rest of us in reality.

To my credit we did not lose by two scores :) but that being said, I was really disappointed our offense was so abysmal. I'm also disappointed we started the game so awful. Minus the first five minutes of this game they didn't put up many points on us. I still believe we are a better team then San Diego State, Idaho, UNLV, New Mexico, and Colorado State, That means we need to pull off one upset and with Brett at the helm for these games (assuming he can come back) and I like our odds with Brett Smith running things on offense. We may have to win some shoot outs but I think we can do that against the defenses in the MWC.

Pokefanchaz 7, at least you have some of that Kool-Aid to wash down the Crow. Bon Appetit.

If I had some an icon here of me eating my hat I would post it :) I'll never give up on a brett smith led team. :thumb: But yes I will eat some crow for sure about this. I really thought Koby was going to do a decent job against an FCS school. He proved me wrong. It wasn't all on him but our defense held them pretty good in the second half and we had a chance to march down the field and he choked.

I have zero confidence in his ability to drive us down the field when it is really important.

The whole team has problems.

Run defense and coaching are two weaknesses that jump out at you!

Colby shouldn't have been expected, in his first start, to make up 14 points that the defense gave away
in the first few minutes.

I don't think that it's ridiculous to expect your starting quarterback to move the ball thirty yards in just under two minutes against an FCS team that was bad defending the pass last season. We just needed to get into field goal range and he disappointed.

I recognize that qb play and running game were the only weaknesses in the game but they were the most glaring in my mind.
