Cal just beat Syracuse

So Cal is 3-0 and just beat #23 Syracuse on the road, and judging by their stats they have a very good offense.

Our OOC schedule is rough. For the MWC to gain superiority over the Pac12 in hoops again like in 2012, Pokes must do our part.

Beat CU and steal one from Cal!

Beating CU and Cal, along with SMU will go a LONG ways in a getting us into the Big Dance.

I'm confident Shyatt and co will give us the opportunities to win these games. We've seen Shyatts D slow down and beat fast paced offenses before. I think we may steal one or more of these big games.

I think the schedule is turning out to be a lot tougher than I thought it would be initially.

I think there are 3 NCAA at-large teams on the OOC schedule (Cal, CU, SMU) and two that will have a very good shot at winning their conferences respective auto-bids (DU, NMSU).

NMSU and Cal are both better than I thought they would be. 10-3 against this schedule would be pretty good IMO.

I'm already loving everything I'm seeing this season. Is there a better time then now to play a schedule like this? We finally have a team with depth that can make a run into the dance and a schedule that allows us to be in the mix for the top 25 in the same year. I couldn't ask for anything more as a Pokes fan. We run this OOC schedule and the Pokes are in the driver's seat.

Cal is most likely going to be our toughest OOC opponent. Their guards will be some of the best we face all season. Jabari Bird was a top 100 recruit, is a playmaker, and is looking for his big breakout sophomore year. Jordan Mathews looks like an all out scorer with speed and range dropping almost 20 a game. Combo those guards with their senior big man Kravish who was supposed to be their best player heading into this season, some additional back court depth, and you have one hell of a team. They've been playing solid defense too.

I do think the Pokes hold the edge in the paint for this game. Cal's weakness is their front court depth. Between Nance and DC we should be wreaking havoc in there. It's gonna fall on our guards ability to D their guards. Always tough to win on the road against a good team and Pokes have a history of trouble in Cali. I'm expecting a tourney style showdown between two great teams. We're gonna have to up the defensive pressure, make some plays, and OWN the paint. I'll be at this game and am very excited to see this match up.

Welcome aboard Cosmic Cowboy. I think you will see a very good basketball game and you will get to see firsthand Coach Shyatt & staff's ability to teach a team to play good defense. Not saying Wyoming will win, but it should be a good game.

10-3 is not acceptable with this team.
11-2 is acceptable.
12-1 is good.
13-0 is what we should get.

We should beat CU.
We should go into SMU and win.
We should beat Denver and NM State at home.
We should go into Cal and win.

I am really up on this team considering we have one of the best players in the country and THE MOST exciting guard in college basketball.

When we start MW play I want to be 13-0 and ranked somewhere around 17th or 18th.

High expectations sure, but this year is the year we need to get over the hump.
10-3 is all good and dandy, but man... SCREW THAT! This team is better than that!

I'm with Beav on this one. We've got an EXCELLENT basketball team this year. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to beat every team on our schedule this year.

Well if there ever was year to just be feeling electric with positive vibes about Cowboy hoops it's this one! Cleary this is the best the Pokes have been since Bailey blew out his knee. Even that team was more of a collection of sheer talent making plays as Mcclain was never much for tactics. I like this team more than that one simply because they are more of an organized unit and I LOVED that old team.

This team right here is highly talented with a top 30 coach. That kind of coaching wins games in tight situations, squeezes more out of what we have, keeps the team improving every week, makes adjustments in game, has us prepared to play, makes us play D, and gets talent into Laramie. He just seems like a solid human being too, as do our players. These guys are easy to root for and they have style to boot. I mean this team plays above the rim and is throwing down dunks that get my ass off the couch cheering.

So fuck yeah! All in on these Cowboys is right!!!
