Just saw a Tweet from The Upset Blog... UH OH!
@theupsetblog: And as a final note, if BYU fans think news is bad now, things just may be getting worse. Honor Code office isn't done yet

Probably an issue of black-on-white that bothered them.
My observation, from the time I lived in Southern Idaho, was that Mormon women were the most promiscous in America.
What a bunch of hypocrits.

You have a point. But nobody at that university will ever admit or really even discuss it. What race were the last 3 athletes that got in trouble (HC) from that school? Further, here is an interesting stat...and I quote (2008)...

"Of the 30,426 students enrolled at BYU, 158 are black, according to BYU statistics."

Want some interesting reads, just google this: "Was Brigham Young A Racist". You could waste days reading that stuff...some from the church themselves, admitting many racial remarks made by Brigham Young, but using the excuse that he was not delivering "god's word" when he said the things he did, but delivering his own "opinion as a man". Further...why it took until 1978 to allow races (other than white) into the church "priesthood" is fascinating.

The word "hypocritical" doens't even begin to explain it...

Why athletes (or students) that are black attend, or look to attend that damn university is simply amazing!!

Interestingly enough you can find anything you want on the internet, about anything and shade it in a negative light. However, I'm done arguing about religion because you have your beliefs. However...why do white athletes try and play sports at any other school? There's quite a lot of reverse racism out there as well.

Agree...I don't believe everything I see / read.

However, this is a suggestion that a well known, and church owned, university...is in fact racist / bigoted within thier own history, and quite frankly still is today...as shown by percentages given by the univerity itself. 158 of 30426 students are black...about 1/2 a percent. Grambling calls themselves an "all black school" (with roughly .8% being white) why doesn't the BYU say what they are...an "all white school". Imagine that.

Further, this is merely a puzzling comment (many have made, not just myself) to the fact of why would black athletes (in particular) subject themselves to something that is obviously (whether you want to believe it or not) an issue.

I don't want you to think that I was offended, or trying to come back at you. It is interesting as to the percentage of whites to blacks, however I don't believe it's soley based upon racism. Obviously it's no secret that I am in fact LDS, and was a door knockin' missionary (in Las Vegas of all places) haha. I can't speak for everyone in the church, but I taught everyone equally and taught many black families on my mission. I think the ratio of black to whites at BYU has to do with the ratio of black to whites in the church's population in the United States. Now you can argue it's because of racism in the church today, but I think it may have a lot more to do with the history that may have been apart of the African American race and the church in the past and not so much as to the stance or view today. Just my two cents I guess, and hopefully it allows for a bit more open minds.

PS- Maybe black athletes go because they know they are only in competition with white kids for starting spots? Easy pickins! haha jk....but seriously

I hear you...this isn't about folks or their religious choices...to each thier own IMO.

Personally (and I will deny it if you ever tell anyone) I have plenty of experience with LDS people...more than I needed to be honest. And quite honestly, the non-BYU LDS people are great, I know quite a few of them, and some are close friends (they don't judge me by the way). It is the BYU die hard hypocrit "we never do wrong and are better than you" type that I am referring to here...that always rub me the wrong way (the judgemental types fit here perfectly).

Now, don't get me wrong, just so everyone knows (to quote Toby Keith) I am a skinny dippin' finger flipin son-of-a-gun, that regularly drinks whiskey and beer, I cuss like a sailor, and I had so much premarital sex that I thank the lord daily I never got drippy-dick.

;)

Hahahaha.....love it. Well if it makes you feel better there are a small majority of BYU students I can stand, but we non BYU fans actually take the same stance on BYU as far as the hypocrites go!! They make us look bad!

Either way, I hope they make some money for us in the tourney and then go get their A's kicked in the WCC and become the next Army of the Independant football world.

Davis went to BYU for an education.

He wanted an education in math, an education in history, an education in English....and
yes, an education in sex. He felt the later was his weakness so that is what he worked
hardest at. So he arranged some independent projects in the subject, hoping for extra
credit. It didn't work out for him. But he did learn something about the subject: at BYU
you GET fcuked.

I miss the good old days when BYU had two honer codes one for the students and one for the athletes

And when BYU kicks a Black man off the team it screws him up to the point of committing murder
