I agree that conference strength is historically low right now. I agree that Hawaii and San Jose need to get punted into the middle of the Pacific ocean.
When the MWC was formed, we didn't have a dominant football program. We had a lot of above average football programs. It had a lot less garbage at the bottom of the league, but the top of the league was similar to the MWC now. Eventually, the only way to win the MWC was to finish undefeated and qualify for a BCS game. TCU was a smart addition. Utah rose up off of the Olympic committee rebuild of their athletics facilities to become dominant. The MWC became so good that the Pac 12 and B1G had to meet to dismantle us, because they couldn't compete with us on the field. That all started with a league similar to the one we have now.
The cream will rise to the top in the MWC again. If we learned anything, we should keep the league small and trim the fat from the bottom of the league. Let's get rid of the expensive trip(Hawaii) and the SJSU
If anything, the MWC needs to dump the garbage.
Sorry, but the irony of these statements makes me laugh.
You do realize both of these teams beat us right?
You realize we are "that team" right? Picked to finish in the bottom two. The team that other teams currently see the schedule and view it is a bye week. The cream will rise, but as of Saturday, Aug 22 @ 9:18 AM, we are the dead weight in most people's view outside (and even inside) the conf. Us preaching about ridding dead weight is ironic.
UW will never reach TCU Utah prominence.
And that's ok. That's just reality. Currently there is BSU, then everyone less. Even then, it has taken over a decade of constant winning.
