BYU to return to Mountain West? BYU AD: 'never say never'

*I am in the minority on this one.

I think there is a level of humility and forced humbleness that comes with those pricks wanting &/or returning back to the MWC. And I wish that on them. It is much more than just a tail between the legs. Much more.

The victories against them - are of the sweetest variety. Some of my best memories, and some of my worst nightmares, come from playing those pukes. I welcome it...and will take the good, and the bad. When you field a group of cowboy tough (average age of 20 years old), and you knock the shit out of those 23+ year old hypocrites...my balls are tingling just thinking about it.

*I hate everything about that school - I loath them. Their fans, their alumni, their coaches, their students and student athletes, their student parents, anyone that wears their attire, their everything.

F-U BYU!!!

I hate BYU with every fiber of my being. If a giant sinkhole were to swallow their entire campus the world would be a better place. Bringing them back to the conference would strengthen it, but they would burn the whole damn thing down to get to their next destination. To hell with them. They made their bed, now they get to sleep in it.

My two favorite teams are the Wyoming Cowboys and whoever is playing BYU this week!

They will want special consideration like Boise State got to stay in the MWC and not bolt for the Big East.

Competitively and in the whole "which is the best non-5 conference" argument we want them. They probably also bring a bowl berth with them. But I personally would only take them on an equal footing.

There's no humility here. They're a parasite that thought they killed off their old host as they moved on to another tastier-looking one. Now that host seems to be dying as well, and they noticed their former host has actually somewhat recovered and maybe actually doesn't have proper immunity against their virulence.

Can we please not let the tapeworms back?

We got the NY6 bid last year with a terrible MWC. Improvement by the teams already here will guarantee a NY6 bid. Like I said, our average number of bball bids won't change. So, our chances of a NY6 bid might change very very minimally, our bball bids won't change, and our revenue won't change very much at all.

Times have changed since they left. We simply don't need them and they don't bring much if any benefit. If you want to play them, schedule them but sure as hell don't let them back in.

I used to agree that we should consider measures to get byu in the fold. However, since things have changed so much, there really is no benefit at all.

The local radio station here in SLC said that "there is one school specifically that is vehemently against BYU coming back to the MWC"...and they "think it is Wyoming or San Diego State."

Well, I think diplomacy might call for a little bit different verbiage, but okay, I get it.

Give me BYU and UTEP as 2 new additions to the conference.

I'm for anything that strengthens the MWC and makes it a better conference.

On the other hand, as BeaverPoke says...well, you know.

16 team conference? Been there done that. Fuck that!

Those uppity bastards are getting exactly what they deserve. The MWC does not need them. Fuck those assholes. Let them rot in Provo. Let them twist in the wind.

Exactly! The MWC got the Fiesta Bowl last year despite not having BYU. We can get it again this year without them too. What do they add? BYU OTOH can't get there in any scenario, that's why they want in. Fuck them!

DINO said:
Precisely why I want them back in the conference to see a Craig Bohl led team take them to the woodshed without mercy in the not too distant future...hopefully.

Then Schedule them OOC. We don't need them in the conference to do that.

I would love to see Wyoming beating BYU. Always a fun game as a fan to watch. When I was younger anyways.

Hate losing to them.
Despise it.

Would love to watch Hill run all over them for the next few years- assuming we win.
Will love watching Shyatt and company dismantle their hoops team a couple times a season.

This article from the same website succinctly covers, with relevant newspaper links, how BYU actively tried to collude to scuttle the Mountain West.

http://www.mwcconnection.com/2010/8/27/1653432/byu-to-the-wac-was-code-named-the

I don't agree with the author's conclusion that Utah State did the honorable thing. And I'll always remember this as a shining example of how BYU operates among many, many others. The dirty sonofabitch that thought sucker punching every Memphis player he saw wasn't even suspended; let alone kicked off the team or expelled! Having an Honor Code vs. "Just Moving on from the Past"

I hate them as much as the next guy and would be fine with them back in the conference but with an ironclad entrance and exit fee north of $25 million coming and going.

I wonder if "talks are warming" with Thompson because he may be on his way out to Minnesota?

Fuck BYU in the mouth with my gold plated dick.

I don't want any part of them in our league ever again.

Some people seem to forget that they have a blank check book funded by an army of door to door salesmen. Their kids are two years older and more mature than any team they play. Those two year older kids are generally Polynesian lineman that weigh close to 300 pounds when they graduate high school.

I don't ever want to be a part of a league with BYU, the MWC tournament "Great Wall of Cummard", their pocket officials and replay booth BYU graduates, and a western media infested with BYU grads that don't even pretend to be unbiased.

They made their bed. They can pull on their magical white undies and sleep in it.

I would be interested in a basketball series as long as it's 1 for 1, 2 for 2, or any arrangement that means they come to Laramie as often or more often than we go to the House that Porn Built.

Aside from that, not much has changed: Fuck You BYU. Fuck You BYU. Fuck You BYU.

I don't have to believe in their crap. It's my right.

If it's my opinion that a nation of Israel never existed in Pennsylvania, I can say that with 100 percent confidence that there has never been ONE solitary piece of archeological evidence of the existence of that culture unearthed.

That's one of the main problems with BYU. I'm supposed to seperate religion from sports whenever I discuss my skepticism of their cult or the success of their football team, yet they don't have to seperate church from state when they send their entire football team on mission, when they fund their athletics programs through tithes generated by an army of salesmen spreading the gospel, or when they build their recruiting centers in every Polynesian culture on earth.

They come with their own set of rules that all their conference members have to follow. We all have to walk on eggshells to make sure we don't offend any of their cultists. We all have to play by their rules to enjoy the priviledge of listening to them brag about their success when they're the team in conference that benefits the most from their special cultist rule book that applies to everyone in the league.

No thanks. They can take that garbage somewhere else.

What's the point of hating a team you never get to play? That's no fun.

The only way to play them is on fair terms and BYU refuses to play anyone under those conditions. They always have to have a special deal or something that benefits them more than us to play them.

I would support adding them in non-conference as long as Gerry Spence and a team of Wyoming's finest law experts drew up the contract. Otherwise, you know what's coming: a scheduled 3 for 1 against 26 year olds, where we agree to give BYU ninety percent of the profits and are required to use the BYU replay booth/game officials/t.v. announcers, while sitting behind a soundproof wall to protect us from Sarah Cummard.

CJ I get where you are coming from completely...but lemme ask you: Would us not going to Provo and running it up their ass in front of a traveling band of five thousand hootin' and hollerin' Wyoming fans -- against the backdrop the Slide Canyon mountain range...would this not be supremely delicious? I see this scene in my mind's eye and my mouth is beginning to water as I think about the smile that never leaves my face on the 400 mile drive back to God's land.

Also wanted to add: The last time we played them was back in 2010. Some have suggested that we schedule them in an OOC game. Does anyone really see this happening? There is nothing on any future schedule which provides any reason to believe these 2 schools will get together anytime soon...so the only way I see us getting an opportunity to lay the wood to them is if they rejoin the MWC eventually.

I know you didn't ask me...but fuck ya, I am in. As I mentioned, my balls are tingling just thinking about that.

I was at the game in Provostan in 2010. If it weren't for a late 4th quarter pass interference no-call (David Leonard) on about their 15 yard line, we beat them. The whole fourth quarter those asshole fans were telling me to "start the bus" - when we started marching. I turned around at one point, during the march downfield, and half of them had left. They knew if we scored it was over, and I would be in their shit. Damn that pisses me off...

If you want to puke...(of course the didn't show the PI):

It would be glorious. I just have too many years of memories and history to think that BYU will ever agree to any arrangement with Wyoming that DOESN'T benefit BYU more than Wyoming. They insist on it and actually believe they're entitled to it.

If they want to play us they can agree to a 1 for 1 or 2 for 2 where we use non-Mormon game officials, replay booth, and t.v. announcers that aren't belittling Wyoming's program for the entire two hour broadcast.

The only way BYU should get back in the league is under the current league rules and with a massive ironclad entrance/exit fee. In addition, there would have to be rules in place to monitor the replay booth, to make sure the conference basketball tourney(Thomas and Mack) is as welcoming for every other team as it is for Sarah Cunttard and the BYU douchebags, and we should require all Mormon athletes to complete their missions after their eligibility is exhausted.

If you take away BYU's 21 year old, 300 pound Polynesian, redshirt freshman lineman advantage, they would have been an average/below average team at best.

BYU isn't qb U. It's 330 pound Somoan lineman U. The reason why they're 330 pounds and dominant on both lines is because they're TWO YEARS older. I'm not going to sign my 7 year old up in a boxing league for 9 year olds unless I want to see him get his ass kicked consistently. The same goes with playing BYU.

I would take much greater joy in watching their program slowly die due to their arrogant decisions. It would pleasure me more to see us and our conference playing for a NY6 bowl while they slip further into irrelevance. I say to hell with the battle. Win the war. Let the bastards rot.
