BYU decision?

Has anyone seen anything on when BYU will be officially announcing their decision to go independent or not? Anyone know the time frame they have to decide?

They have to decide by Sept. 1 otherwise they'll have to stay.

Also, the school has to get permission from LDS to move out on their own.

I doubt they will go anywhere now that Fresno and Nevada are leaving, but IMO if BYU does leave and go independent in Football at any point I think the MWC schools should agree to not sign games with the cougettes for at least 5 years. They think they are all high and mighty but I don't believe they can consistently put together a schedule that rivals what they all ready get in conference, and certainly not the type that Notre Dame normally puts together. Minus the revenue they bring in, as far as I am considered they can leave (they act like they are some how entitled to more because they are "the great BYU"), then we wouldn't have to deal with their whining or with the Mtn airing BYU 23 hours a day.

I've heard of religion and proselytation playing "hell" with nations, but with football conferences? Jesus!

Maybe BYU should just form a conference with other "religious" schools - Southern Methodist, Notre Dame, Oral Roberts, Bob Jones University, Texas Christian, ... etc.. and let them battle it out for "most holy"

I like TCU in our conference, so I'd prefer to keep them out of it. The others can do whatever they want, however...

No way! You gotta leave SMU outta that. I really don't like BYU and don't want anything to do with 'em. I don't even want TCU dealin' with 'em either.
