BYU Boise

Seriously! I want Boise to win so that they are over confident going into Laramie

How do you move the ball on Boise's defense? So far BYU hasn't been able to run the ball. That has me a little bit worried.

BYU offense is putrid. They have a backup RB in as well.

I think we can move the ball. Boise does have a quick D, so we need to take advantage of their pursuit. Allen has a better arm than Hill and Hill has had some opportunity. We'll find out next weekend....after taking care of Nevada.

I'm starting to feel much better. I was wondering if BYU would get Boise to pull eight guys out of the box and Boise's DC just changed the game plan and did it for them.

I think Allen can hurt Boise running the ball and there will be opportunities to go deep. It might be a similar game plan as we had against CSU. Take advantage of play action and pass on first down until Boise loosens up the box.

Damn this is ugly. Five turnovers for Boise. Wyoming might need to be + 3 in the turnover battle to beat Boise, and we just might do it.

BYU won the turnover battle 5-0, had every bounce, call, etc. you could imagine go their way....AND THEY LOST!!!

BYU was +5, turnover-wise, against Boise and loses. (That also included BYU trying a fake punt on fourth-and-19 from its own 5-yard line, though. ) Earlier in the year, Utah gave the ball up SIX times against BYU and still won. Provo primetime.

Two home squeakers in a row for Boise. If the Pokes come out sharp next weekend, that could/should be a good game against the Donks. First things first, though. Falling flat in Reno would be a crusher.

I'm a little scared Boise's offense is going to go through us like butter. Our only chance will be to make them one dimensional. Must take away the run and hope for the best in the passing game.

We need to force turnovers. We are pretty good at getting takeaways and judging from last night Boise can be prone to giving them away but you are right. If we don't get takeaways they could really carve us up.

Getting pressure on the QB will be huge if we are going to force turnovers. I haven't watched Boise all season but the QB is Rypien, is he any relation to Mark Rypien the old Redskins QB?

Yes, it's his nephew.

On another note, watching the game I was reminded how much I hate BYU. I am no fan of Boise, but BYU is just dirty. The trip on the kickoff return (where the refs flagged Boise for a hold and missed the trip) was a stark reminder of their dirtiness. I know it happens with other teams, but with BYU, it always happens. Turds.

I'm nervous about McNichols. That guy is an all around back! He has rushing numbers that match Hill and Pumphrey, and he can beat you receiving as well. Overall he has better numbers than both Hill and Pumphrey. If you can stop his rushing, he'll kill you making plays as the dump off.

... But let's get past Butler and Nevada first.

That right there is the key to beating Boise

"Since 2000, teams that scored 2 defensive TDs AND were +5 in turnover margin have gone 23-1."

Before last night, that number was 23-0.

Please don't ever land on the wrong side of that stat, Pokes.
