BYU and the Big 12

getting complicated

BYU to the Big 12 is good for the MWC as it makes it less likely we will lose a team.

( I don't buy the concern about the WCC conference though. They could care less about the WCC)

This next week or two should be interesting.. it'd be awfully hypocritical for BYU to jump into a conference at this point though

Yeah it would be except I'm beginning to wonder if Texas and BYU got together a few months ago to rig all of this to where BYU leaves the MWC to go Indy for a year then joins the Big 12 after A & M leaves plus with only 10 teams, no conference title game.

I'm by far an expert on this matter, but why would they go into multiple years worth of contracts for scheduling on this matter? I'm guessing buying out 8-12 scheduled games over the next few years would be expensive. It seems like it is probably easier to go independent than go move back to a conference. Certainly alot cheaper.

Hypocrisy has never bothered BYU before, why would it now?

So true. They will spin it how they need to spin it...always have, always will.

What I see funny in the whole deal though...say they do go the BigXX route:

1. The backpeddling will be unreal, and fun to watch.
2. The MWC will be to blame (again) for everything they do / did.
3. The games they have to "buy out" that are scheduled will be unreal. They lose $$ going to the BigXX.
3. The BigXX in just a few years will still implode, leaving them stranded. Yee-Haw!
