The amendment also deleted the “incentive payments” portion of Burman’s original contract, which was capped at an additional $150,000 for meeting specific goals for academic performance, athletic performance and ticket sales. Those funds also came from non-state, non-tuition/fee dollars.
The incentive payments from the original contract were replaced by “additional guaranteed annual compensation,” which reads:
“Beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, (Burman) shall receive, in addition to the base salary, an annual guaranteed compensation of $250,000. The guaranteed annual compensation will be earned and payable in 12 equal installments on a monthly basis.
