We are a joke. Laughingstock. How bad does one have to suck at their job to get fired???

He signed a secret extension three years ago that was never publicly announced. Just shows the good ol boy way these things work in Laramie (good find by Alex Taylor)

Wyoming AD Tom Burman under contract until 2027

LARAMIE – Most people thought University of Wyoming athletics director Tom Burman's contract expired next month.

This is a joke. Done in secret by Seidel. Is anyone surprised that this is coming from the guy that demanded his own personal EV charging station on campus, the creation of the ‘school of computing’ for his personal benefit and appointed his romantic partner Director.

And to top it off, Seidel orchestrated the firing of the best dean at the University Cam Wright because Cam refused to unethically (and probably unlawfully) divert engineering funds to Seidel’s school of computing.

All supported by the BOT. Just like the Ellbogens, and while my donations may be relatively insignificant, I am now also ending all donations to the University of Wyoming and that money will go to the Colorado School of Mines until Wyoming gets a clean slate.

Cam was my Grad School advisor in the Engineering College. There wasn't a more honest, upstanding professor on campus, outside of Steve Barrett. I am beyond fed up with the BS that is happening at UW for the sake of a few good ole boys. Major reason why they get $0 from me....

Welp, I aint surprised by all of this. Then again, I never am surprised.

Hope Seidel gf is worth all the crap going on over there in Laramie.

The good ole boy system is destroying Cowboy/Cowgirl athletics and the university but...they don't give a rat's ass about winning making UW be the best it can be in education so why should we?:rolleyes:

I miss the days of blaming BYU for all of our problems!!!!!!
 
The amendment also deleted the “incentive payments” portion of Burman’s original contract, which was capped at an additional $150,000 for meeting specific goals for academic performance, athletic performance and ticket sales. Those funds also came from non-state, non-tuition/fee dollars.
The incentive payments from the original contract were replaced by “additional guaranteed annual compensation,” which reads:
“Beginning July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, (Burman) shall receive, in addition to the base salary, an annual guaranteed compensation of $250,000. The guaranteed annual compensation will be earned and payable in 12 equal installments on a monthly basis.

I really didn't expect anything different. No other school has any interest in hiring this person to do this, yet UW hands him more money with a guaranteed contract. The best thing you can do is just stop going to the games and stop supporting this incompetence. Very similar to the Colorado Rockies.
 
This reads a lot like UW was basically forced to amend his contract as whatever non-state, non-tuition dollars were being used to pay portions of his salary/benefits were no longer available. Probably threw in the couple year extension as a good faith token for accepting the amendments that UW was going to be unable to meet.

Really fucking weird.
 
Replace him, Retain him, cut the position entirely....don't think it matters to winning...that puts me in the minority but it's what I see.

It doesn't read like that to me.

It reads like a backroom deal to me to give an extension to Burman and to protect his ridiculous salary in the event he was fired early. As previously written, I imagine the 'other source' dollars were not recoverable/guaranteed if Burman was fired.
 
I guess we finally now know why Sawvel was given a basically fully guaranteed contract to an unproven coach. Because it looks like Burman reworked his own contract to extend it and to make sure it was fully guaranteed in the event he was fired early (and so of course the football coach is going to request and be given the same assurance as the AD in terms of guarantees).

And if the University was to fire Burman for the awful contract he gave the football coach…well that works out great for Burman because he still collects his full guaranteed salary without even having to show up to work.

What has gone on at the University is rotten to its core and this should now be apparent to everyone.

It was Bohl senior that got PBJ the job and it couldn't be more clear. You were the one that was calling it insufferable for those calling it bs.
